Hello, Im working on Surrey Rehearsals remastered version.
I doesn't know the IORR / JMARKO's 2007 version.
But, my work, from VGP 108 seems to be uncomplete.
Is there more tracks ? Have you got the ending itw (not me) ?
Please send me material for complete version.
Thanks

Thanks teague!! merci beaucoup!!

AIFF files can be easily converted to FLAC 16 using free programs. Open the file with Audacity and export the file as WAV. Convert the WAV file to FLAC16 with Traders Little Helper (TLH).

Download Audacity at: [audacity.sourceforge.net]

Download TLH: [tlh.easytree.org]

Thanks Again TeagueRaw!!

Hi Teague et. al.:

Here is a link to the 2007 version I did on these tracks. This is the FLAC version.

As the enclosed notes indicate, I tried some pitch correction, noise reduction etc. Listening back now I think it definitely sounds a bit 'bright' and maybe a tad fast, but this tape is a bitch to work with as there are lots of fluctuations in every aspect of the recording. It is sourced from my boot LP. In no way is it lossless. But considering the original source.....

I will reiterate that the untitled song descriptions are mine. The first song is indeed My Home Is A Prison, as the lyrics Mick sings are a match for that, as is the music.

What I have listed at "Untitled 4 (rocker)" definitely has some lyrics to it. At one point Mick says "down on my knees" and that's about the only line I can make out. Sounds like a fairly well worked out song in a Hendrix vein. I just can't place it.

Also "Untitled 2 (R&B lick)" sure sounds like an actual song they try briefly, and again Mick is throwing lyrics around. Ditto for "Untitled 3 (slow)" where Mick is heard giving the chordings in the beginning.

Anyway, I don't know if this version is considered better/an improvement for anyone. I also have no idea how long it will be up on GigaSize this time.

I'd love for Captain Acid or Laughingman to try and clean this up further if there's any interest.

J

I somehow missed this one. Did get it in 320mp3 afterall.

I do have a 19 track version in Flac, but without artworks.

Can anybody send me this 19-track-artworks please.

Jaap

Had missed that too and since I don't want to listen to the horrible original VGP boot again, man I was gutted when I first got a hold of it after waiting for it for a while...so please uploading the 320 of FLAC would be great, we have some pretty good artwork in the first message ;-)

This is a tape recording from one day, not from various days. "Brian is in Paris celebrating his birthday" implies it's on or very close to 28th February 1968.

In fact if you listen very closely, Mick says "it's overdue two weeks," so I put the date at 3/13/68.

I have a version of these rehearsals from tape which is not so processed as this Teague Raw version. Plenty of natural sounding hiss and background noise, which I still think sounds better. Maybe I'll put it up on HC; it's a rough listen but maybe enjoyable every 5 years or so.
