Thanks. Based on the samples this is Toronto 07-15-1972 (1st show), not Mobile.
Anybody got an idea?

It is indeed Toronto 72 number one, but it sounds much cleaner than any other source for this tape.

Due to security issues I can't open www.dimeadozen.org , so unfortunately I don't know what has been written there.

Just fort he purists among us. After closely comparing the 1972 july 15th Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens 1st show (not
the VGP-042 Street Fighting Men In Toronto 1972) and Mobile Zipping Through The Days June 27th 1972 show this
should be indeed the 1st Toronto show as well but fortunately in a much better quality. Because of the small cuts in
the Toronto version it made the comparison a bit difficult and time-consuming.

To make it a bit more confusing: The "Mobile '72 … dusting off the freezer" show seems to be the same "Toronto 1st show”
as well. This all assuming that this 1st (afternoon) Toronto show is indeed the Toronto show.

But here it goes wrong: in both the Toronto and Mobile Zipping shows in the band introductions Mick says: "it's pretty hot in Alabama".
In both shows the introducing text, spoken by Mick at the beginning of You Can’t Always Get What You Want, is the same as well.
So that leads me to the conclusion that the Toronto 1st show is in fact the Mobile show.

Back tot he "Mobile '72 … dusting off the freezer" show now. According to the Wiki “The Rolling Stones American Tour 1972”
there only was 1 show on June 27th 1972 in Mobile Civic Center. Still there are some differences to be heard between
“Mobile ‘72” and Mobile Zipping like (in Mobile ’72) Mick says “I’m gonna get arm chairs here” just before starting Sweet Virginia,
while on Mobile Zipping it’s not heard (unlikely because of just cutting ).

So my conclusion is that Mobile Zipping and Toronto 1st show are 98% the same while Mobile Zipping and Mobile ’72 know
many differences (not related to just cutting).

Heiloobaas and hj3009 could you give me your comments ?

Thank you Hervé for sharing !

It's Toronto 72 Number One, in amazing quality. The first round of this show was amazing, as nobody thought it even existed! It was good audience quality for the time, but I couldn't understand Mick's between song comments.

So, as the judge appointed to this appellate court on whether or not this is Mobile 27th June, 1972 or Toronto Number One 1972, I hereby declare it's Toronto.

Case adjourned. Where's my Aberlour?

If Mick in this recording says "it's pretty hot in Alabama", the correct date is 1972-06-27 and location is Mobile.

Whilst onstage during the first Toronto set, Mick might have said, "It's pretty hot in Alabama," but I somehow doubt that. And where during the Mobile set does he say it's hot?

Here's the answer I got from dbboots.

Hi

Many thanks for the Matrix scan.

This is not Mobile Alabama june 27, as it's not equal to Freezer source, suppose to be a safe source.

I have compare with my version of Toronto 1st and is exactly the same , it was shared by TornAndFrayed (mjake) in 2005 .
I have compare with [VGP-304] Standing at the kitchen door - 1972.07.15 and is also the same.

My best guess is also Toronto 1st show, even if Jagger seems to says somethingh like ".. hot in Alabama" before the band introduction..

cheers

First off: my ears are German!

I don't know, if we are talkimg about the same spot before the introductions,
but there I hear Jagger saying something about the afternoon!
That's why we know it's the FIRST show from Toronto.
