With no small amount of anticipation, I read the liner notes for the Satanic Majesties anniversary release at [www.45worlds.com]

I looked forward to mention of how the Gomper track name came about. Unfortunately, the closest to that is that it's enigmatic. Not even today's compiler has found out. I thought it might be an elaborate acronym, like Cream's SWLABR, but that's no better than a guess. Gliding On My Pretty Expensive Rod ? I dunno. Perhaps it should be consigned to the same category as the likewise enigmatic (yeah, right) CUN and COC Stones cat. numbering (as if we can't get the drift of that one).

Anyway, can anybody shed some light on what the Gomper name is all about?

I noticed that too. Definitions 3 and 7 stand out. Either about a dopey nerd with no chance peeking from behind some bushes checking out a pretty girl having a private swim, or a substance-induced imaginary scenario? Hmmm ... I'll guess the latter - seems to fit the time best.
