I have not used Dime before but managed to register and attempted to download a Neil Young show. I am obviously doing something wrong as all I could download was a 18kb shortcut.
Could anyone help by explaining (in simple terms) how it all works?

you downloaded only torrent file. now you have to instal application for downloading files from Dime.
this is the best:

you can read there everything what you need for downloading.
and remember about "ratio" at Dime. you can read about it in FAQ at Dime
