That was great. I was thinking of making a cd of nothing-but-Midnight-Rambler. Has anyone done that?

Thanks for posting that one -- would love some more.

i dont know that anybody's done a cd of nuthin but "Rambler".......I know of cd's with nuthin but "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Love In Vain" (the focus being on Taylor's solos).......you said you'd like to hear some more....do you mean more songs from that show or tour? or more versions of "Midnight Rambler"?

Leeds Lungs '71 stands out. Even Mick J. gives a hoot as Mick T. rips through his treble-rolled-off dark lead.
It's the only version where Mick pleads, "Go down on me baby"

Just more versions of Midnight Rambler would be great. It seems like "Go down on me baby..." always seems to be playing when I'm doing the carpool thing! I play the Brussel's Affair version whenever I'm driving on this great stretch of road and I can go fast! Cheap thrills.

Here's another great version of "Midnight Rambler"........this one is from the 1st show on 6/24/72 in Ft. Worth.....I think it's almost better than the version from the 2nd show up until the part right before the final verse....Charlie either gets on the wrong beat or Keith changes the beat or something and it throws Charlie off for a second......

I love the Hyde Park 1969, NY 1969 and Leeds 1971 (unfortunately there's no stereo sound) versions for their blues feel while I am still stunned at the great rock version from Brussels 1973 (BRUSSELS AFFAIR, etc.).

Can't decide which one's better - I love it both ways...

LOL!! That stuff happens to me too!

My favorite Rambler is Ya Yas. Keith and Taylor play as one, and though there's just a bit of MT soloing, it's oh so tasty.

Gotta go with Ya-Ya's...it was the first Stones song I ever heard...and it made me a fan. I was all of 5.

Brussls' Midnight Rambler is the greatest performance by the Rolling Stones, ever.

Thanks so much for the ones just posted. I'm not sure anything can possibly rival Brussel's, but I figured listening to one after another could be a whole new variation on hitting the old replay-replay-replay.

So, now I have Knebworth '76
Brussel's '73
Ft. Worth '72
Knebworth '76
and Welcome to NY

If the offer still stands about posting any of those below (and any others,) I would be very appreciative. I wonder if there might be any known side-effects to this kind of marathon... I mean, other than a certain state of bliss...

Houston- 6/25/72 2nd show
Philly- 7/21/72 2nd show
Pittsburgh- 7/22/72
New York- 7/26/72
Perth- 2/24/73
Sydney- 2/27/73
Wembley- 9/9/73
Paris- 6/6/76
Paris- 6/7/76
Atlantic City- 12/19/89

Would be kinda cool if he re-instated the "Go Down on Me Baby" variation for the Clinton bash! But then they'd also be doing neo-con that night. Uh-oh, on the road to setlist fantasies.
