My first Rolling STONES Show was in 1982.I remembered how long it was to wait for the STONES in EUROPE after their awesome 1981 US Tour.
There's so many soundboards of 1981, that i've choose to select the best tracks from several bootlegs to do a Double-CD.
I was so disapointed with the official "Still Life"which was far too short!
So here's the ROLLING STONES on fire with a dream set-list.

It's a great idea to pick the best version of every song performed in 1981 - to make a double CD. I once had a thread about it on IORR.....but there wasn't much contribution on which version was the best.
Your compilation is based on 7 or 8 shows I think.... - that's quite a work, I bet; BUT it would take ages if basing the compilation on all the SBD recordings of 1981......would be terrific if somebody went through the hassle though

i've never seen your thread before, but i've always thought to do a thing like this,
too bad i missed it.
For this work , it's my choice, there are some others versions which are pretty good
but i like those ones.
There's only one thing that i forgot to do, but everybody could do it, it's to cut
some speach between the songs that's my mistake, so you hear Mick after Black Limousine start to talk about She's so cold><.
I wanted also this list, because i think it's a dream set-list for 1981.
My all time favorite is Down the road apiece, but what did they take this day to play like this, so much power and fire on it, you could hear the fingers on the strings

Anyway, it's a try , and everybody should take it as a try
As my teachers said , could do better><

Oh, Honestman - as you probably know, I never meant to critesize your attempt....I didn't even dare to try on compiling "the best of 1981", myself....!
Your collection is nice.

And yes - "Down The Road Apiece" was probably the greatest song/performance of 1981 in my opinion as well - my favourite version comes from East Rutherford Nov. 5th.

The problem with compiling "the best versions of every song performed in 1981", on a messageboard - is that you don't know whether the contributers have 3-4 bootlegs from the tour - or every single one.

And if one were to do it by oneself.....one would have to quit the job - and be completely anti-social for a week.....at LEAST

Don't worry Erik, i accept all the critics, and your words didn't offense me. My purpose was to try to do somethin' i can enjoy when i listened to it.
As I wrote , i like the 1981's shows but you're absolutely right , compiling is very hard.
So my "little work" should not be taken as a new Bootleg so far!
I don't care of that BUSINESS, it's just a self-compiled work for the 1981 US Tour and I hope that people got my point.That's all.Everybody here already owned those versions.
There are so many sources as you wrote , so many good versions, the ultimate one
will be hard to do, but i think it's worth to try.

I don't think that concerts are the best or so, in fact they sound as a band needing to rehearsal a little bit more and when ilisten some songs without sax i think i don't like... Just my opinion!!
