virgil: It's clear from the artwork - rehearsals from the 28th Sep, the day before the show... ...really good stuff though - these guys do the practice!!

What is posted is part of it. It's supposed to be the Philly dress rehearsal on 8/29/89 for 2 CD's and another dress rehearsal on 9/23/89 before the Wash DC show on 3 CD's. The 9/28/89 is incorrect. Tracklists are identical.
The Empress Valley artwork that claims these are rehearsals from Foxboro and DC is wrong. There were no such rehearsals. These are the two complete run throughs done in Philly on 8/28 [the one on three discs] and 8/29 [the one on two discs], before the 8/31 opening. The dates of 8/28 and 8/29 were confirmed by comparison to audience recordings of the complete rehearsals from those dates. Better Than the Real Rebirth is a different release of the same two-disc 8/29 show.
These rehearsals are super run throughs of the entire opening night set list, including Shattered, which was the song that had the power failure on opening night and was never played again on that tour. Dead Man Cumming is, in my opinion a strong candidate for the best Stones boot ever released.
I can not find any info on any Wash DC rehearsals and since everyone is in agreement about Foxboro not taking place, I stand corrected. I'm actually happy to be wrong because my 1st concert was Opening night 89 and these discs make a nicer companion to all the crappy quality recordings of opening night.
I have 2 questions: Since the rehearsals were being done at JFK on 8/27, 8/28, and 8/29, were these 2 recorded there or did they go to Veterans Stadium both times? Also are the audience recordings that were used to compare available on bootleg?
The rehearsals were at JFK, which if I am not mistaken was going to be torn down soon after. I researched an old newspaper as I recall and the rehearsals were not at the same venue as the performance. This seems unusual, however.
I've heard the audience recording of the second rehearsal and it's not good. I don't think these were bootlegged, but I'm not sure. There is also a soundcheck from the 31st or [some think] from the 30th. It is 14 songs, including jams, part songs and repeats.
