QUESTION: Rotterdam 1973 Oct. 14 (2nd)
Posted by: straycat58 ()
Date: July 22, 2009 16:46

It's long time that I miss 4 tracks from this show: GS-Happy-TD-Star

I read they're included in a CD named Round'n'round'n'round but quality is bad.
Can you tell me if there's any other better source available?

I found the others on Birmingham Odeon DAC and Brown sugar on Timeless Europe in VG quality.

You have that show on The Trader's Den:

Original Notes:

The Rolling Stones
Rotterdam, AHoy Hallen, Netherlands
October 13, 1973
- entire show, no cuts -

But the comments and conclusions of the original post by gdlz said this isn't the 13rd October show, it's the 14th October evening show!

uploader gdlz added:
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL DATE: 1973-10-14 !!!! THIS IS NOT THE SHOW FROM 13th, THIS IS FROM 14th (evening)!!!!

SORRY FOR CONFUSING, DON´T KNOW ABOUT THAT!!!!

...and then:
!!! please file this show as October 14, 1973 - evening show !!!

Ok, I know this one .
It is the complete October 13 and is the same source of The Rotterdam Tapes in slightly better audio quality.
Interesting because it includes the Words of Wonder pages which help you to identify almost each song of the three shows.

No thanks vancouver.
I'm looking for Rotterdam evening show (4 tracks only). Yours is the afternoon show (Keep your pussies clean) and I have it.

The evening show is detectable because after Gimme Shelter Mick says Charlies is good tonite, this is not Altamont!

I resume the different Rotterdam shows.

1) The first one October 13 is complete on THE ROTTERDAM TAPES and you find it at the link indicated by mifamifa on the Trader's Den.

2) The second is October 14 afternoon and you can find it in Urbansteel list the bootleg "Keep your pussies clean" which contains the first 6 tracks from Brown sugar to Heartbreaker. The second part of the show is on THE ROTTERDAM TAPES second CD.

3) The third show is October 14 evening. You can find Brown sugar on nasty Mixes and Timeless Europe in sbd version. Then you find 9 tracks from Dancing with Mr. D to SFM on Keep your pussies clean.

In conclusion, only 4 tracks are missing : GS-Happy-TD-Star from October 14 evening show.

P.S: I followed the indications written in the Words of Wonder; if WOW is wrong, I'm wrong as well.

Just listened to the show at this link: [qualitybootz.blogspot.com].
If it's the same as the Traders Den link then it must be the Oct 14th late show as none of the tracks correspond to those on "Keep your pussies clean"(unless all the dates are wrong)

This should help:

Re: QUESTION: Rotterdam 1973 Oct. 14 (2nd)

My understanding from the recordings I have is as follows:

SHOW A
This must include Brown Sugar (KBFH recording) as it is not the same as the two versions on the Rotterdam Tapes boot CD. Also as the recordings from Dancing With Mr D until the end of the show are also not the same as either disc on the Rotterdam Tapes boot CD, then they must be bart of the same show as the KBFH Brown Sugar.
I do not possess the recordings of Gimme Shelter - Star Star from this show.

SHOW B
Disc 2 (complete show) of the Rotterdam Tapes boot CD. The recordings from Brown Sugar up to and including Doo Doo Doo match the first six cuts on the Keep Your Pussies Clean boot CD. Dancing With Mr D is not played.

SHOW C
Disc 1 (complete show) of the Rotterdam Tapes boot - this must be a different show as none of the recordings appear on the Keep Your Pussies Clean boot CD or in the KBFH recordings. A re-started Dancing With Mr D is in the set instead of Doo Doo Doo.

CONCLUSION
I've always taken show C to be October 14th 2nd show, because Zentgraf's Complete works says that this is the show where Dancing With Mr D is re-started after an error, therefore assuming my identification of the three separate recordings is correct show A must be October 13th (Dancing with Mr D in set, also Zentgraf says that a sounboard recording was made) and therefore show B must be October 14th 1st (Doo Doo Doo in set).

Of course, all this assumes that
a) The information in Zentgraf's book is correct
b) The Rotterdam Tapes CD material has just recordings from one show on each disc, and
c) The Keep Your Pussies Clean material is all from the 3 Rotterdam shows and not anywhere else mixed in.......

Hope this helps

I think this puzzle will be solved when we shall find the boot Rund'n'round'n'round which should include the Gimme shelter version with Mick saying this is not Altamont at the end of the track.

Anyway, I hope the three red pages above can be of your help to identify what you have in hands.

Well it's been a hot and sultry day over here and this is a complicated matter, it seems!
I think it is like this:

Rotterdam Tapes/Stone Crazy disc one=14.10 second

Rotterdam Tapes/Stone Crazy disc two=14.10 first

"Qualityboots"=14.10 second, this has been discussed before, but I cannot find the thread, I think Eric_Snow said that this is silkcut's version.
Birmingham Odeon/DAC = tracks 1-6 are from Rotterdam 14.10. first, tracks 7-15 are Rotterdam 13.10.

If that's so, then "Words Of Wonder" Aug 93 edition is wrong!

I don't have the first half of the show from Oct. 13th, sorry!

I forgot, if you take it as I posted it above, you have a problem with "Brown Sugar" from "Brussels Affair-Definitive Edition" dics two; it says there this is from the second show Oct. 14th, but it is different from Stone Crazy disc one!!
If I remember correctly, this was my complaint already in the thread here months ago, which I cannot find again!

The Rotterdam dates discussion occurred on dimeadozen a while ago. I did some research with a friend who at age fourteen was present at the first show and actually made some notes (setlist, stageclothes etc.)

On dime we came to the final conclusion:
October 13 - the "NO ALTAMONT/Happy missing the first verse" show
October 14 1st - the "Heartbreaker show
October 14 2nd - the "false start DWMD" show.

In such a case the red page 3 becomes number 1 and viceversa.

Question: is the No Altamont/Happy missing the first verse available?

Just found that the requested disc you' re looking for is

Round and round we go to Rotterdam

by Rockin Rott.

But I haven' t found another source of it. It is claimed to be a worse but nearly complete recording, missing only the first track.

The first track is Brown Sugar, available sbd. So, we must find "Round and round we go to Rotterdam" to have the four missing tracks and have the 3 shows complete.
