i remember being a teenager and buying the gimme shelter album thinking that it was the soundtrack to the movie and being very dissapointed when it turned out to be studio versions plus some songs from the got live if you want it album. so 25 yrs later i've put together a compilation from various boots to make a soundtrack for the movie . it is far from perfect. i've edited together different versions and it shows in a few spots. i also added a few bonus tracks from the 69 tour as well and made some artwork . here is the link to the folder to download these tracks. if there is interest in this in mp3 format i'll upload those as well

i listened to a few different cd's to find the best versions and worked on quite a few to get the best sound . not sure which versions i picked but this is the list as i remember

Thanks for the great "merge" of Brown Sugar...have been hoping someone would do a good job of blending the "incomplete sound" of the version on Shot of Salvation ( a more balanced mix of this is heard in the movie GIMME SHELTER) with elements of the conventional version to better approximate what is heard so breifly in the film.

i missed your post but downloaded it just now and i love it..many thanks

i used acoustica mixcraft to to match the playback rate/speed then combined them adjusting the volumes of both left channels and mixed both down to a mono wave file then used that file as the left channel for a new mix and adjusting the eq to match the right channel as close as i could. hope that makes sense, my skill at explaining things has always been kind of poor...lol

I too as a teenager bought the Decca "Gimme Shelter" thinking it was the soundtrack album and being disappointed when it wasn't, although in my case, it was somewhat more than twenty five years ago!

Prodigal Son is definitely from MSG and where did you find this version, because mine is missing 5 seconds in the middle?
