Why can't the Stones with their backup singers and musicians sound this good?

You should hear them play the Stones material. Unfortunately far better than Stones can these days.

...thats a bit of a cheap shot...the Black Crows are a good bad but they aren't better than The Rolling Stones in their prime or even near prime. And they haven't written anywhere near theiconic tunes Jagger Richards have...not even close to the same league.

I said these days didn't I? Never said they were better than the Stones in their prime.

It's strange you say this because I was just watching a clip of Phish doing "Loving Cup", and the audience is shouting every word along. I wonder how many people believe this is a big Phish hit. But it is weird to watch Phish deliver these tunes better than the Stones. Because this is how "Loving Cup" really feels great.
