Chappell Roan's debut album "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess," released in September 2023 when she was virtually unknown, slowly got onto Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart, and continues its initially slow climb into public awareness.
This week it's Number 5.
If its to reach No.1 it'll have to climb past albums from well-known artists that debuted in the Top 10, by Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen, and the holder of the summit, Taylor Swift.
I encourage people to check out Chappell's album. 14 original songs and there's not a weak track on it. Be it a banger, bop, or ballad, every song is exceptional. As is her voice, and as are her performances. The Willard, Missouri girl is here to stay.
I'm getting a kick out of watching reaction vids by youtubers listening to "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess" for the first time. It might make a fun way to try out Chappell's music. A "reaction vids" sampler:

Pharrell's "Happy" generated vids of it being danced in cities all over the world... even in countries where Morality Police jailed people for it. I wonder if anything goes
that viral anymore?
