happened to peruse the wounded bird website over the weekend and noticed this too. had the rocket 88 lp way back in the day, but i think it got lost in a move somewhere along the way. good jump blooze outing.

i saw rocket 88 at the half moon pub at putney bridge in '81. i believe it was their first outting together, if i'm not mistaken. got to chat briefly with charlie,ian (who was on the soundboard), and jack bruce. it was such a memorable evening, i was on cloud nine. did anyone see the same gig?

I think they did a few gigs in 1979, or even earlier.

I saw Rocket 88 too, in a pub in Parkway Camden called the Dublin Castle, it's still there today. Bloody fantastic. I remember talking to Ian Stewart about the possibility of another tour, he said "o well they're talking about it" ... and lo & behold we had the 81/82 tour shortly afterwards.
