A BIG THANK YOU TO "IORR´s VIKING CREW" for recommending.
LONG LIVE LIZZY
Many people might be put off by the mislabeling of Lizzy as a Heavy Metal band ( yes, I´ve seen this), when really they were a damn competent hard rock band with extremely well thought through lyrics, penned by one of my heroes Phil Lynnott, whom I had the pleasure of meeting several times.
They started out having some difficulties finding their identity musically.
But once they did, around the time this live recording was done, there was no stopping them here in Europe. Sadly, they never broke the US market, and the policy of Phil, keeping all their crew payed, even there was no tour, left the band more or less broke, come the 80:s. So...the management put forward the idea that the band would "split up" for some time, and then make a grandiose come back, although none of the band wanted this. But at that time, some of the members, Phil included, suffered from a heavy heroin addiction, so there was´nt much resistance to this idea. And they needed to get away from each other for a while to be able to clean up. Phil kept on making music, and recording, but his habits made his health worse and worse, finally killing him. I´ve seen some horrible pics of him just weeks before he died, and it was heartbreaking.
And I have some stories to tell about my meetings with the band, but that would probably be way OT here. So my recomendation for anyone slightly interested in the band, start with the album Fighting for example, and get everything from there on. The double live "Live and Dangerous" is essential, being one the best live albums ever made, and that´s just not my opinion.

New one from Neil Young, "Dreamin Man Live." Live recording from 1992 tour. Very good. Several rare numbers on it.
