"End of the Day" - THe Hampton Court Palace Choir and Organ with the Brass Ensemble - kind of a Medieval mix of music actually recorded in Hampton Court Palace
"Ten Years After Live at the Fillmore East" - recorded, I believe, in 1971. An exceptional concert recording.
"French Classics" - classical pieces by French composers, on piano
"Three Dog Night Captured Live at the Forum" - recorded in 1969, a great show (as I had said in another thread, I was at that show)
"Blues Caravan" - the Buddy Rich Sextet, recorded in 1961. Some outstanding music with incredible flute, vibe, trumpet and, of course, drum solos.
Hm, that's a difficult one. I do not have a CD player in my car. I just listen to my 325 cid V8 with 2x4 brl carbs ontop. The sound of the old V8 engine in my 1957 Dodge Custom Royal is better than ANY music ever made
Hi Dave: i was lucky enough to catch Ten Years After at Fillmore East live back in the day, and also a free concert in Central Park; reallyl spectacular blistering stuff...
i keep a special cd cases holding 12 stones boots each, in my car all the time.
for years it was 'oh carol' from ya-ya's that always got me going off to any trip anywhere...now for many many months it's that hot kick off from HG, "...the rolling fu*cking stones..." and into 'let it rock' ...that just kills me everytime...they don't even come in to it all together but it is so real and so moving...
and i'm in the middle of this incredible steaming screaming most excellent live show. whoa...maybe my fave version of 'starflucker' on that concert too... well that's how i get going when i drive lately...sometimes i listen to the country station, and the rest all stones, mostly boots...just for the dirt and reality of it...tho i love the original studio cuts and find them true masterpieces. i keep versions of 12 x 5 and some other early stuff close as well. there's nothing else quite like music in your car; it's a way of life since teenagers kinda... springsteen said it:Well now I'm no hero That's understood All the redemption I can offer girl Is beneath this dirty hood With a chance to make it good somehow Hey what else can we do now ? Except roll down the window And let the wind blow Back your hair Well the night's busting open These two lanes will take us anywhere We got one last chance to make it real To trade in these wings on some wheels Climb in back Heaven's waiting on down the tracks Oh-oh come take my hand We're riding out tonight to case the promised land Oh-oh Thunder Road oh Thunder Road _____________________________
once upon a time i ordered these special stereo headphones from Canada that were made to fit inside motorcycle helmets...i had a sony walkman cassette player that was pretty good; and uhhh, an AC/CD cassette...and, uh... i spent a lot of time installing the headphones in the helmet and fitting the wires perfectly down my jacket and getting set up...and uh...i hit the freeway and i was married to the rhythm guitars...i would be accelerating with the riffs and crashes; couldn't help it...and i got to going, uh...real fast on the 405 all doing crazy passes and wired to the hilt on rock and roll and the feeling of 900cc's humming and stuff... i scared the shit out of myself, rode home, ripped the headphones out of the helmet and put the walkman in the drawer, and never rode with it again. the motorcycle makes it's own music and you can sing along in the helmet, but when angus and malcom are driving you, you are on the highway to hell and loving it and that's that.

Cassette tape car stereos are cool. I have a simple one-slot; but the sound is amazin'. But what I have on my mp3 is more important, since it follows me into the gym.
