A typical andy js conversation.
"Hey andy, what do you think of the Black Crowes"
andy response: "They suck!"
Reply to that: "Oh you see them in concert? You have their records"?
andy response: No, I never saw them and have none of their records but I know they suck"

Wrong. The Kinks never rocked. They just kind of creaked

After seeing Motorhead last month in a club, I can think of no reason to spend a dime or travel a block to see AC/DC in an echo chamber arena!

Hmmm... You Really Got Me, All Day and All of the Night, 'Till the End of the Day, She's Got Everything, and a catalog of others: nothing remotely rocking about those tracks! (;-)
For better or for worse, the Kinks invented power-chord riff-rock and heavy metal in one single, You Really Got Me. Without the Kinks, the Young brothers and their comrades from that continent disguised as a criminal colony would have no reason to exist. And, notwithstanding the cringe-inducing huntsman's coats that they wore 40 years ago, NO ONE IN THE KINKS EVER WORE KNICKERS ON STAGE!
It ain't about ticket sales. It's about the enduring quality and diversity of the catalog. And, on that measure, the Kinks win hands down over one-trick-pony AC/DC.
This is supposed to be about art, not commerce. If commerce is king, Hannah Montana is the greatest concert act on the planet, and Jacqueline Susann is a better author than Shakespeare. And God help us if either is true.
