I live two streets away from the Half Moon pub / music venue in Putney, SW London, where Mick, Keith, Charlie & Ronnie were all present (as well as me!) in May 2000 for a wake held for one of the stones crew. Also, many of the stones, past and present, have sat in on gigs there. I saw ronnie there in the last few years when Leah played there. It's literally a five minute walk from where I live.

BOSTON, let's hear more about this! What did he order and did you bring it out to him? I bet he ordered fish, maybe salmon, or trout. Am I right?

Well it was I believe August of '81 and I was working @ The Publik House as a saute cook . It was the middle of the week and we typically were not real busy on Tuesday or Wednesday nights . We'd put out about 500 dinners or so and up to 1.000 on the weekend nights . Getting back to the the story . We were told that Mick and a few guests were to be dining with us that evening and of course the kitchen staff was rather excited . Most all of us were Stones fans and we went as a group to see them in Hartford later in the year. There was a good sized dining room just off the kitchen which was rarely used during the week and the party was seated there . I remember we were told that if any of us tried to get autographs , pictures etc. we would be fired .We couldn't even peek in the room !!
The Publik House is a historic Inn and has accomodated many celebs throughout the years . They will protect their customers privacy .

The maitre 'd chose one of our older waitresses to serve the party and she was really cool about waiting on the table . She didn't rattle easily . When the diner orders came to the kitchen I was really happy that the dish he ordered came from my station . I picked out the plumpest Frog Legs I could find and prepared them as best I could . Also I managed to put a personal touch of my own on the plate , as a garnish I fashioned a Tongue from a peeled, seeded tomato and hoped it would impress .

Needless to say the other cooks were a bit envious that I was the one who was lucky enough to prepare the meal and we all toasted our good fortune at the local pub afterwords .

Nearest stones landmark to me is the side door of the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, where I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ronnie Wood the night before the Slane gig last year!

Otherwise the nearest stones landmark is Gazza, up in Belfast!^

Or is that the one the Sharks have only won once in, hmmmm.....

On a more serious note, I do live about 10 minutes from the arena where the Stones played in 1966 and 1975. They are preparing to tear it down next month. I will have to take some pictures and post it.

Green Airport in Warwick RI is about 20 miles from my house. We all know what happened there in 72. The other end of this landmark, The Boston Garden, has been torn down.
