... that may be, but the release of LIB was delayed, wasn't it?
the band rejected the first test pressing or whatever to call it
because the record company had compressed the life out of it -
something like that. it was meant to come out before the tour ended.

Re my tapes, they are in a huge storage vault 350 miles away. Several small audio cassettes from a new Sony product in 1970. They were recorded for fun only from the side of the stage; hardly of a quality worth getting your knickers in a twist.
As I said before, there are bound to be a few Swedes somewhere who will come to light to assure you that ADLT was heard live in 1970.

On the Exile version it must be open G tuning cause you can clearly hear the lower open G string played in between on the intro, especially the first time,as the open G
string still can be heard whilst Keith goes for the second time.
On the live version above for the intro both are possible, cause I don't hear a lower open G string there.
I think Keith plays in open G though.

I don't think so actually. As I hear it, the A string has not been detuned to G, and the rundown D - C - A in the last bar clearly is played on a standard tuned string. Also, as Spud mentions, the overtones normally heard with open G tuning are missing here. Also, the intor guitar is a different guitar / take than all other (open G) guitars heard in the record.
And of course, Keith changed the intro for every live version ever done, which all have been played in open G.

This is how I have always heard it, in open G. But there's something not quite right.
------------------------------
-8-8--8-------------8-8-------
-7h10-9--- 7--7--5--8h10--7--7-7-
-----------7--7--5--------7--7-7-
---------7--7--5----0----7--7----
Also possible (and it would be closer to the horn section on the studio version and what Richards plays live):
-5----5-------------5---5----------
-5h6h-5-------------5h6-5----------
---------- 7--7--5----------7--7-7--
-----------7--7--5----------7--7-7-
---------7--7--5----0------7--7----
There's two things: the G string sounds a bit out of tune which makes the riff more "spitting" than when I play it (the same with the Monkey Man riff btw). Second, I don't hear a D, either on the B string or on the G string. So:
-23-2-
--3-3-
--0---
------
------
and:
-5-5-
-5h6-
-7-7-
-----
-----
Are not correct to my ears.

Thanks. I didn't know about that book. The intro must be open G, I was convinced of that. Did the author get the music from Keith? I'am not 100% convinced about the version in the book.

It's a book published by Hal Leonard. No idea if they contacted the Stones for accuracy.

The book has all guitar parts for all the songs, the actual transcriber was a guy called Jack Morer. There's no "didactic stuff" regarding fingering
