Yes, Beast, same camper.

And I remember getting you that soup like it was yesterday . . .

New York was cold and damp

. . .

And the soup was hot, as I wiped my brow
The soup was hot, just some take-out chow
The soup was hot, hot, hot
On a cold October night . . .

If it were real fans in the front, some would have been too busy text messaging their friends in the balcony while turning around waving.

Or texting the set list for publication on these very pages ;^)

Whereas the bimbos would have been texting THEIR friends asking which one is Keith or telling them that "da stonez r playin Hope u guess mi name...."

Faking it may be a little strong, that is, Marty may not have been faking a request for the setlist, but there's every likelihood that the editing suggests a fake (ie. dramatic) sense of urgency around when he got it.

Mick himself says that Marty will only get it 20 mins before the show. Given the probability that the setlist wasn't available hours before the show, never mind days before the show the injection of a little drama through editing is hardly faking it. It's just heightening the drama around pulling off something as complex as filming a Stones concert.

I think it's worth remembering that, like most directors, Scorsese is used to working with scripts that were written and rewritten weeks and months in advance and where every lens pull, camera angle, and dolly shot is thought through, often on computer and regularly through story-board drawings. (As a kid Scorsese drew storyboards for fun). If I were a director who'd spent the last 30 years making films with that kind of approach (call it preparation, even) then the idea of getting a set list just hours or minutes before a two-take event--there wouldn't be a take 3--would be a little daunting. Is it fake? No it's what happens in the movies.

The fake crowd looks very cheesy...it's a shame they didn't just film a real audience...warts and all.

You have to watch out for those folks born in the year 1973. They were born with criminal mischief...it's in their DNA. blame it on the '73 tour. smoking smiley

I've said my tuppence worth in more than one previous thread on the subject of the hired non-Stones-fan bimbos - i.e., I was anti-the whole thing. And after seeing the results on film, I haven't changed my mind.

Me too! But does she really? It looks like her mouth does say "Ronnie" when she points. I watched that and thought if that was the case. But....are they that dumb??

Yeah so why couldn't Scorcese get real Stones fans that were hot? Surely, they exist? It's not like all Stones fans are gargoyles that have boils on their faces. Couldn't they have at least filled the front with good looking Stones fans if that's what they wanted?

Even when you catch a glimpse of the fan-boy near the stage screaming and jumping up down...you kinda do prefer to see the hot model in his place.

So what was Scorceses to do? Hold a contest for the best looking 'stones fan'? Its a movie. I'm sure Jagger far wanted a few lookers at the front than the usual fans in their IORR t-shirts staring at him.....

Come to think of it, the bimbo audience perhaps wasn't a bad idea after all.

My point exactly. AS nationally released film with a load of munters in the first few rows? It was never gonna happen.

That No Security Montage reminds me that they used to have some strange looking people sitting in the first few rows back in the day . . .
