Any fans here?....anyone been to his latest tour?....Playing in Central park in a couple of weeks...supposed to see him a couple of years ago but he cancelled the tour b/c of a motorcycle accident...

Saw Dire Straits just the once, back in 1979, but have to admit to not really appreciating how good they were at the time.
A few years later, I bought a copy of the Alchemy Live concert and it was my most played VHS tape ever, though sadly, it is still not out on DVD.
Loved the album with Emmylou...a modern classic.

Simply an amazing musician with a great band. I always catch him once when he comes through. Been seeing him since his Dire Straits days. I am going Sunday. If you get a chance go..I have never been disappointed by his solo shows. The setlists for this tour are posted all over the net if you are interested.

His new album 'Kill To Get Crimson' is great. There are no Straits type solos, just nicely textured and written music.

Saw him in Brussels a couple of weeks ago. Great show although his singing was bit so-so at certain moments.

A little fatter, a lot older and a lot balder. He can still play guitar though and plays several Dire Straits tunes. Not much of a "show" however. His recent performances are all over You-Tube.
