We all know that over the last few years and tours that Ronnie has had his problems with the bottle. He's very loveable on stage,and is the court jester in the studio to keep Mick and Keith from strangling each other! But his demons have gotten him close to being replaced on numerous recent occasions (paging Mick Taylor?), and the Bigger Bang album was virtually recorded as a trio with Mick, Keith,and Charlie.
All of this recent press with him and the Russian gold-digging bimbo (well,she is!),while it might seem suspect,also sounds familiar from the PR standpoint!
Shine A Light,with all of the press hype and Scorsese connection, did so-so in the theatres on limited screens. Now their DVD of the movie is set to be released.
What a way to generate interest in the band again, aside from the press' snipes about age, than to have this in the press, all with speculation of the end of the Stones,or Ronnie being sacked! (Better buy this DVD,because it's certain to be the last!!)
Almost sounds as if Andrew Oldham had his hands in these tabloids and stories and all, refreshing the old "Would You Let Your Daughter Marry A Rolling Stone" or the "P*ssing on a gas station wall" routines to keep the press going.

I hate to say this, but after seeing my fair share of shows the last couple of tours, Ronnie is not the weak link, our beloved Keith is the weak link. He did more posing then Madonna in front of a camera. Maybe the time off will help him look within?

After reading the article today, there's just two things to hope.
1. That Ronnie decides to go back into rehab and stay with his family.
They've been so supportive to Ronnie thru the years of his alcoholism.
2. That Ronnie realises that the Rolling Stones need him sober in the future and we fans of the band also are worried about the situation.
Now this last remark is maybe a bit too ego. But it's a responsibilty to be in a band like the Stones and that goes for Keith too. With a new worldwide record deal and a lot of fans all around the world expecting the Stones to deliver valid music, it's a damn shame if it all turned for the worse with situations like this.
I might be harsh and ego. I know that alcoholism is an illness and are not easily treated. Hopefully Ronnie comes to grips with this and we soon see him back with his family and The Stones, in good shape!
Come on Ronnie, fight back!

Too much work, a new girlfriend and my own humble musical
career! (not much of a career but I've started to record and write some
songs) My livingroom and bedroom is my also my recording studio nowadays.
