So they won't sell it in other countries that don't have WalMart? LOL

Oh no. You don't know it but Wal-Mart, in conjunction with Nike, McDonald's and Sony, own the rest of the world so AC/DC's record will be available everywhere.

Given Wal-Mart's insistence on selling censored music or boycotting it, this doesn't bode well for AC/DC fans.

Well, I don't check with wikishitia for a whole lot considering how it is and besides, come on, couldn't you tell I was joking? I know it was wrong because Sony owns EVERYTHING.

Heard about this this morning on NPR. Don't care for ACDC much, but I just think making your album exclusively sold at WM is the ultimate sell-out, the ultimate show of how $ rules. Sad.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's not like the average customer in your local independent record store is dying to get their hands on the new AC/DC album. It's probably a smart move given the current state of the record industry.

Didn't the eagles do this as well?

Yeah and they've sold - I forget but I think it's over 3 million now? That's 1.5 million copies sold in reality (it's a double album).

I couldn't find anything current but there is this bit:

Well documnted that record stores were going to Wal Marts and buying the Eagles CD's and re-stickering them for their own shelves...for a few dollar more mark up.

Actually, the Eagles album sold 3 million of UNITS, certified 7x Platinum by RIAA (shipments of 3.5 millions).

Hafta disagree on that point. Fly on the Wall was a great album IMO!

I thought Stiff Upper Lip was excellent too!

Show Business. It sucks, I guess.

Flick of the switch is underrated. Razor´s edge is ok. Ballbreaker is pretty tired. I´ve heard three songs from Stiff upper lip, was not impressed.

I feel safe in NYC. Welcome to the house of jazz. Great tunes.

RIAA - I love how they count platinum. Records sold, not copies. Very misleading but what huge numbers!

They've never really done a bad album, and this is one band that never waivers off of what they stand for and are going to sound like!

What do they actually stand for? There´s hardly any messages in their lyrics. Maybe they just stand for rock´n roll...But it´s also a big business...

What do they STAND for? What kind of question is THAT?

It´s a very relevant question.

Will elevate you
Her bad behavior
Will leave you standing proud"

They stand for those about to rock, and they salute us.

It's the business of show that really sucks. It does seem odd that they would strike this kind of deal. I wonder if they will make avilable for purchase online through their site like The Eagles did. I really don't want to go into a Wal-Mart. I'm not even sure if we have any around here.

No great loss: AC/DC albums have been essentially interchangable for 25 years at least. More of the same, only harder to find.

Your closest ones would be in Oakland, San Leandro, Union City, or Mountain View
