A fantastic choice BluzDude. I initially scoffed when I heard about this album but when I actually heard it I fell in love with it. Some fantastic musicians on display reworking classics but remaining true to the spirit of Johnson.
On reading Clapton's auto-bio it all seems to have came about by default.

Happy Birthday Robert.

Apparently the sessions for Ronert J CD was better but I'm not familar enough with either CD to comment. I have to say that I did find Me & Mr Johnson abit middle of the road and well, safe.

Strange to hear about Johnson's birthday. His music's so haunting you'd rather think about his dying day (he died from poison) or the day he went to the crossroads. I get shivers every time I listen to Hellhounds On My Trail...

The best. When you pick a guitar and try to play those licks, turnabouts, chords, with those weird tunings (don’t even think of singing at the same time), then is when you wonder: Who’s playing the second guitar? Not human.

I believe Keith has RJ's original Death Certificate. He somehow managed to swipe it from some Hall of Records. He keeps it in a thick lucite case. Can't remember where I read this..

Better to play Mr. Johnson than anyone singing about Mr. Johnson, especially on his b-day. Don't make us get out the 32-20...

I played my Johnson Resonator in the park today, told a couple o' pals it's RJ's birthday.
I wouldn't say I got close to RJ's Style - but I honoured him, ... and a few folks appreceated that.
....'ain't it good when the summer sun comes out to stay a little longer.

Johnson was truly the master. And even though I know its kinda a corny movie, I love "CROSSROADS" w/Ralph Macheo. The guitar duel for Willie Browns soul is just great! Dont get the st cd-go to a website and d/l the music from the dvd rip-its fantastic.

Hey fiftyamp, I guess you might read in the MOJO special edition on The Stones. Keith mentioned in a interview he did in that issue
