I think she is a superstar. I'm not a fan (haven't got one cd) but I can't say she is overrated. How can you be overrated when there are millions of people buying your cd's, going to your concerts, making her the richest woman in the UK?

She is and remains one of the most important popstars of the last 25 years. She's not a musician per se, but she has always been ahead of her time with fashion and music. Of the three major artists of the 80's (Jackson, Prince and her) she's the only one who still means something.
Her new album is not a true Madonna album, it's more a Neptunes/Timbaland/Timberlake album. On most tracks she is more like the back up singer. To me, this is again a new Madonna -getting older, and having other people take over. I must say I really like the album.

BTW, did you listen to the lyrics on the new album? As basic and simple and silly as lyrics can get, she sure ain't no female Dylan, not even close, not even in the same UNIVERSE.....

I am yet to hear Madonna’s latest, though from what I have heard, it shows her following trends and not leading them. One of her great strengths over the past 25 years has being her innovativeness. People would listen and copy. Now, it seems it’s the other way round. Though if Hard Candy is an enjoyable release, then what does that matter?
