Wonderful clips, thank you. Especially "Tumblin"

Like these clips clearly show, customwise and imagewise Europe 1982 was perhaps Mick's lowest and most ridiculous ever, while probably Keith's coolest ever... over-all 1981/82 was really a Keith Richards tour. He really took his profilic place within the band, and reached out from Mick's shadow, and it has been like that ever since. I think that tour was Keith's nadir - before he came too self-conscious show man.

This is from a tv special from that time. These two songs were broadcasted, no others. I doubt the existance of a full show.

cant agree..Mick's dancing and singing in 81-82 were simply great..I love when he acts in a buffonesque way, he makes me smile. And in this clips he sings great. Keith was in great shape sure, the last tour of the legendary, iconic, cool Keef for me.

I can see the point you are saying. Performanwise it is the real and raw Jagger still, and he is very powerful - no voice training, no dancing lesson....

But compared to the past Jagger sounds and looks a bit tired, too. Of course, it is the first time he takes the demands of a huge stadium into account, and acts quite 'democratic' way trying to give everybody a visual joy of it (prior those big screens etc.). Some nuances are lost in the process. I think what we can see is a guy that 'been there, done that all'; he had been perfecting the frontmanship for some 20 years, been reshaping his act, look and image tour by tour, etc, and I think he shows some marks of running out of ideas (and getting bored). He seems to portray like 'okay, what's next? What a hell are you still expecting from me?' I think the result is that he plays and even clowns with his image, and is more self-parodical than ever. If I ever get the impression that 'this could REALLY be the last time' that is fJagger from 1981/82 tour. That's a 'postmodern' Jagger what is left from being the hottest rock star for two decades. The guy who 'came back' in 1989 was a very different type, a kind of flawless and safe professional projection of the Rolling Stones frontman.

Great clips. This was my very first stones concert the 5th of june 1982 in a very hot "kuip" in Rotterdam. 1982 was the first of many kuip concerts I attended, the last was 13th of august 2003. These clips bring back great memories of a fantastic day which started off with George Thorogood and the J. Geils band. Thanks!

Great clip, thank you LA and thank you Riffbuk, doxa et al. Of course youre right doxa. Although I prefer the 75-77/78 Keith he really came out of Micks shadow in 1981-82. It was his tour.
