Far better song...are you talking about Jealous Again or You Got Me Rocking? *gg*

So everybody knows that Jealous Agaijn is from 1992,
YGMR is from 1994.
So then it´s quite obvious that I meant
that Jealous Again is a far better song. smoking smiley

MJ's Black or White, the main riff, reminded me of the Stones sound, don't ask!

Rebel Rebel- David Bowie
Diamond Dogs- David Bowie
Hot Legs- Rod Stewart
Bohemian Like You - Dandy Warhols
Keep Your Hands To Yourself - Georgia Satellites
Proud Mary - CCR
Stay With Me- Faces
We're An American Band- Grand Funk
Personality Crisis- New York Dolls

...and, of course, some Primal Scream and Black Crowes stuff. But, hey, talking about Primal Scream: Don't you think "Screamadelica" had something from SFTD rythm? Am i wrong?

Movin' On Up - Primal Scream

the definitive Stones tribute

Yup my choice too. I have the guitar solo as my ringtone. It sounds REALLY cool.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Somebody mentioned GLORIA earlier. I don't really think of it as being "stonesy", but I have always thought that Mick would do a great job with that song.

Jamesfdouglas - Maybe the Powergoats covering it is the closest I'll ever get. Think about it!

The Crowes song reminds me of Talk Is Cheap in the beginning. Even the drumming.

Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve deserves to receive an honorary mention here.
But it's debatable if Constant Craving by K.D. Lang does so, too.

Ya Teenage Head - Flamin' Groovies has that loose stones sound, a great record in its own right, its stands on its own despite the clear stones influnce.

Don't get the Gloria connection at all.

Jealous Again is from 1990. But yes, a far better song then You Got Me Rocking!

Hasn`t this been debated before?

Well, when it comes to acting rootsy Stones, Bowie is the man.

I wonder where he takes it from!

It's quite obvious that the Black Crowes' sound owes alot more to the Stones and Richards (Talk Is Cheap as mentioned earlier) than the other way around."Twice as Hard" sounds like it's going to be "Sad Sad Sad" for the first couple seconds of the song.

As far as Jealous Again goes, let's not get too carried away here. It's not that great. It's good but, only a little bit better than YGMR."You Got Me Rocking" is held back by that annoying repeated "Hey,hey...." chorus and its perfunctory beat while "Jealous Again" gets dragged down by the annoying lead vocals.

Good calls, martingo. Most of Mellencamp's "Whenever We Wanted" CD sounds really Stonesy. One of the songs on there ("Melting Pot"?) is almost a straight rip-off of HTW.
