Chuck Berry was in Lausanne last thuesday. It was going to be a great show, an occasion to see for the first time the guitarist who has influenced so much Keith.
What an embarrassing concert....with Chuck twice starting over the same songs or forgetting about the words and music for some....
Chuck and his son looking like an amateur dance hall band...
Well the 2 lessons I have learned :
- Guitarists are not like wine, they dont improve with age - Being the son of a great guitarist don't lead you to be a great guitar player
or just be thankful he is still alive... how many his age could even go on tour? just appreciate the opportunity to see what could be the LAST TIME A real rock god giving back to his fans.. or just enjoy the music...for most of us would be happy just to be alive...ROCK ON!
Right, every artist is free to perform as long as he wants to.
But is it right to charge more that 100 CHF (more than 90 dollars) for it? For so-so band and a star that is unable to play right on most nights. Nope.
You know Chuck Berry always plays for an hour sharp and in one way we should be happy to be able to see these legends but on the other hand it might turn into a bad habit...
I am sorry to read if someone was disappointed at a show. I must say that I don't regret any euro I spent on my ticket to see the man in Amsterdam march 17th. It was short, but worth every last cent of it, but I guess I made that clear enough already,
