After thinking about it (but without looking) didn't Mick J. drive on his bandmates during some songs cause they played too slow?! Somehow I have that in mind.
Bear in mind that Hyde park was their first live gig of any consequence (in fact it was their biggest ever up to that point) in nearly 3 years. On top of that, Brian Jones had died only a few days before and they were playing with a new guitarist. All in all Charlie's reaction is not too suprising.
Hyde Park concert is a kind of wonder. The guitars are out of tune, Jagger's red nose and his voice is half-gone, the band is rusty, and out of sync most of the time, the timings are obscrure, little Mick looks scared and lost, Keith half-sleep, Charlie had forgetten the philosophy of stoic back-beat and is having his rare moments of Mitch Mitchell or Keith Moon.... but still: what a brilliant and strong performance - honestly, one of the most efficient ones I ever seen. The guys just carry the concert with their natural energy, attitude and charisma. Dirty, raw and wild - like "Satisfaction" played there. They were such a top of their game at that time that they just couldn't do wrong. That's The Rolling @#$%& Stones, no compromises, no hostages! I think the band that hitted the road later in America was a bit of cleaned of this raw version we see at Hyde Park! Jezus I love this 1968-1969 tranformation period Stones.
