if you have decembers children, more hot rocks, flowers, and every 60's stones album you basically have it all accept all of the songs on the got live if you want it e.p. i'd have to look but maybe "who's driving your plane?" is the only thing you would be missing

WDYP is also on the 3-CD set with all singles.
But indeed you miss the live EP.
Otherwise if you don't have "more hot rocks" you don't have the songs from that other 60s EP. Forgot the exact titles here.
I believe at least the last of the box sets contains some video material from Ed SUllivan.
But I haven't bought it either. I need a raise.

The last box is the one to go for with the bonus DVD which includes:

"Time is on My Side" from their first appearance on Ed Sullivan
"Have You Seen Your Mother Baby?" from Peter Whitehead's film of their Albert Hall show in 1966
and best of all:
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" the best ever print of their "war paint" promo shot in May '68 by Michael Lindsey Hogg with extended organ outro courtesy Mr Wyman.

An essential aquisition I would say.

Tastefully done...cards...poster..reasonable but not great
photo reproduction....some recording details....liner notes by Nigel Williamson...

When first released in 2005 sets were in many shops ... but now getting
hard to find....Although if you snoop around you can still find an occasional
set at marked down prices....but offer them a lower price... most shops are now happy to just move 'em on out the door.......

@keefriffhard
If you're on a budget you shoudl first get some flowers for your girlfriend if you have one, and if not then just get a beer and the regular stuff.

The DVD in the 3rd set seems pretty cool...

The London Years, isn't that all the boxes?

Although Bill says he plays organ on JJF, there's no way it's the main organ we hear, I suspect he played during the initial tracking session but his playing was either mixed out or recorded over for the final mix, I suspect this was the same for Brian's guitar.

Nicky must have overdubbed organ as the organ part is very Nicky!

Re: organ on JJF

I remember a rumour shortly after the release of the single, that Steve Winwood played the organ on JJF

The last (3rd) set has the SFTD remix disc and the DVD I think...
But yeah, it's a luxury gifty thing for collectors, bascially. Cool, but not essential.

Aren't some of the box-set tracks in MONO while their "More Hot Rocks" counterparts are not?

I put off getting them for awhile but I'm glad I did.

@R
That might very well be true.
But then you get into that long discussion about what versions of say 'Time is on my side' circulate.
OK, next time I get a raise I'll really order all that stuff.
