If your connection is 'slow' it might take 30 seconds or so to get it started.

no button with a little "arrow" on it? hm. yeah, maybe uninstall and reinstall Adobe or something.
or clear your cache. or reboot. or speak soothingly to your computer, or whack it upside the head.

In your browser settings you must enable "flash".
also your firewall must not block Macromedia flsh player.

Thanks for posting. Mick brings great energy to the song (maybe too much?) but where's the groove of the song (compared to the original)? It's a decent version but with 3 guitars is this all they can provide?

There's a big difference in the stones in 30 years since recording the record. You can't possibly expect them to swing as they used at this stage?

Is it possible for someone to capture the audio and post it. I'd like to listen to this along with the two singles that were released on iTunes today as I walk around campus and whatnot.

I'm totally surprised that this a Stones song which is carried by Jagger guitar wise. Jagger, playing the main guitar!

I'm in two minds about this clip. On one hand it's a nice raw sound. On the other, it misses something - I think that it is too fast and doesn't leave enough space to feel the groove.

that came out way better on camera than it did in person. In person it felt disjointed, and messy, almost out of tune. Mick looked out of breath and really confused.

the video looks cool - sounded better and mick looked urgent instead of lost -- scorsese affect is clearly a good one!

After seeing it for about 40 times now, the highlight is during the end when Ronnie decides to play rythm guitar. Around the time when Mick says "one more time". anyone else noticed that? they sound really good there

Have to agree with OLDKR. After seeing this live in person as well as Imagination I thought the movie would version be much sloppier that it is..

And why couldn't the Stones get the same kind of groove going when they are in their sixties? After recently hearing what Winwood, Clapton, Neil Young and many of their contemporaries are doing... well its safe to say the artists I just mentioned are as good as ever.

I thought this Beacon show was ten times better than any of the other Bigger Bang shows I saw, and not to say their playing was 100 percent better but they seemed to be more into it when not playing the same hits over and over. They seem bored at some stadium shows when doing the same tunes all the time.

*******

Is it really boredom of "same hits over and over" .....or just the fact that
they were on auto-pilot for the other shows? I'm sure they get a little more juiced when they
have a special guest musician or when they're performing in southern California
& NY City for all their celebrity friends......but heck, we all coughed up
$300+/ticket...shouldn't we get an inspired performance?

But I suppose if someone was filming us while we do our jobs...we'd give
a little more effort...especially if it was going to be shown worldwide
in theaters and burned to dvd...to be shown forever & ever & ever...

Btw, I'll have the file uploaded and viewable with VLC in a around 30 mins.

neo con, yeah you'd think they'd give it their all for every show and hope they do. But couldn't help feeling the auto pilot thing at some shows, or more specifically certain songs at shows. However not when doing a new song or a song they rarely do.

If they seem bored doing the hits all the time , who can change that?

It's too bad they can't figure out that WE WANT RARITIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting Outtake...

That's a good song... Dylan references, Jagger on guitar, etc, etc... makes me yearn for Sugar Blue but the guitars cover his parts don't they?.

You guys who heard this live were lucky, yes?

I also noticed it, Lorenz! That's spot on!

thanks for the file Lorenz! (thought the post seems to be missing now)

I agree with whoever said that the levels of the guitars generally "follow" whoever is in the frame at any given time. What a chore it must have been to mix! I would hope (short of assume) that the soundtrack album won't have this "effect." So comments about levels should probably wait until we hear the album. I don't know what I think about the effect for the film's mix... conceptually, it seems like showing off on the part of Scorsese, but in practice it doesn't really distract me.

any ideas as to why this song was chosen to be the sneak preview? An odd choice... it demonstrates the Warhorse/Gem Paradox--diehards long for gems to be played, but are unhappy with the way they sound once they're finally played, while the warhorses in fact tend to sound much better than any gems at this point, because the band knows how to play them, unlike the gems. No one seems too comfortable with this number... and as they're less-than-hungry old men, the band's discomfort doesn't translate into raw energy, but just... discomfort. ron at least appears to remember the studio cut, but still doesn't seem to pay much attention.

not bad really, but stiff when mick is playing, and shambling when he's not. This song needs a groove...

are the lines about whatever type of girl liking to f!ck all night cut, or were they omitted in performance? It doesn't bother me which he refers to, but the song needs _something_ there for a climax.

see beginning of thread for tons of speculation etc...

a few people that were at the show (& others that checked bootleg audio)
contend that the "f*ck" line was not performed.

I guess BV deleted the download link, as this is not the right forum to post music.
I posted the link over at Buy/Sell/Trade now - as said before, it's a Flash Video file and plays with VLC player (available for free)

>> any ideas as to why this song was chosen to be the preview? <<

just a speculative theory: because it shows off Mick's guitar
(which seems to be the point of this whole arrangement of the number).
in 1968 Mick said he was making a movie because he's "not a musician"
(what an assertion! but evidently that's how he felt).
in 1978 he said "Keith says i can play [guitar] if i don't play it too loud".
and look at him now :E

Don't think so: Mick is playing the open G rythm guitar also on the original track.
