R I P George - You were Fab!

As Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood prepare to take the stage at MSG, it would have been George Harrison's 65th birthday. My favourite Beatle - and he was fab! I expect Eric will pay tribute. Here's mine, humble as it is...

Cheers to George. Hopefully he's enjoying himself in a special garden, and John is there with him.

There was one George song I never got ahold of: "I Don't Care Anymore". Can anyone point me to where I can hear this, short of tracking down the "Dark Horse" 7"? I have and cherish two other non-LP b-sides by him, "Deep Blue" and "Miss O'Dell". Thanks!

One of the all-time greats--

Unforgettable guitar leads, never a show-off, tasteful, understated, and from everything I've read, a truly gentle and kind soul.

My favorite Harrison songs: Behind That Locked Door, Any Road, I'd Have You Anytime, Far East Man

His work with Ravi Shankar was amazing, HIs collaborations with the Travelling Willburys was outstanding.

His session work with Lennon, Dave Mason, Delaney & Bonnie, Leon Russell, Billy Preston, Badfinger, Clapton and a host of others was spot-on.

Happy birthday George ! Miss you !

Give Me Love

Beware of Darkness

I believe he would probably be the most respected Beatle amongst other musicians?

I love George's body of work, also an underrated guitarist.

Thanks for the You Tube "Iamwaiting" but when I asked my question, have a Beatle and a Stone share a mike ? I was thinking about , in public on a stage in front of people, I don't think that has happend to often.
And George was my fav. Beatle, and his song "Faster" is amazing to listen to with earphones ! You can just hear the bullet goes right trough your head !!

Useless fact...

George wanted to use a Maestro fuzz-tone during the session for Can't Buy Me Love 2 years before Satisfaction, but this was promptly stopped by the George Martin/Abbey Road studio heads...

He's always been my favourite Beatle, shame that some of his most celebrated guitar parts were actually played by Paul though heh.

Here´s a short interview from Swedish television. Don´t know which year, maybe the late eighties.
