Voodoo Lounge Giants Stadium Video
Posted by: skipstone ()

Mmmm, well, it didn't occur to me to search for it because the last time I did a search it was very confusing for some reason;

Does anyone have the live Voodoo video that was available in that brochure thing only on the Voodoo tour? I believe it was filmed August 14 or 15 at Giants Stadium.
Is it any good? Street Fighting Man that live boot is terrible, how they @#$%& it up, which I think is brilliant.

i bought the vhs tape....from an infomercial call "The Goods" (I think) which
aired back in '94-'95 during the VL Tour.

it's excellent! one of my favorite videos. I wish they'd officially
release it on dvd in the U.S.

bought an unofficial dvd copy....it's difficult to watch poor copies
on a big screen. hurts my eyes. i'll be patient.

See, I found - well, I saw it but where I left I don't know - that Voodoo book thing, with the t-shirts and whatever other shit is in it and the video is in there. And I just saw on some other post the cover for it. I really doubt this but I was thinking of seeing if I could still get it...I really only want it for Not Fade Away, Shattered, Monkey Man and whatever other Let It Bleed tracks they do. I'll have to find the set list for that show...

Eh, dammit - is the PPV Voodoo show on DVD? I recall it was very expensive. For something with Whoopee Goldberg on it? Christ that's a ripoff.

That's what I wanted to find out without getting into a 'well I think this was better' trip. That the Giants Stadium show is better than the Miami show.

And @#$%& the Miami show - they had played Shattered for every show (it seems) and then that one night they drop it? That's just bullshit.

The intro to the Giants Stadium show?

IMO the Stones' performance & the video angles & edits were better
and more energetic in the New Jersey video....I also think Mick is a little
stiff and more "choreographed" when he's doing an international pay per view gig
like the miami '94 show. he's admitted (in interviews) to being slightly
nervous for the PPV shows.

Sorry for the repeat setlist post. sweet neo con beat me to it! I think it ends with JJF not BS???? The video was also available at some later shows on the VL tour.

the only "intro" i remember (i haven't watched it in a while)...is Mick under
the stage....before he pops up for the start of Not Fade Away. Is there something else?

re: setlist......i referred to the NJ'94 audio on my iTunes. Might have missed JJF.

The intro to the Giants Stadium show?

Short clip about a roadie....and some scank

The intro of the viedo...

A groupie and a roadie waking up in a
cheap motel. The roadie has got to hurry up,
because without him the whole show couldn´t
take place. "Without me, Ronnie wouldn´t have
power for the amps!" (or something else)

The chick: "Ronnie? I thought you were Ronnie!" grinning smiley

Yeah, and his only responsibility was to turn on the generator!
Did you notice, also, that he brushes his teeth with Budweiser before leaving the motel?

I believe it was filmed August 14 or 15 at Giants Stadium.

It was filmed on August 14.
Too bad they didn't film August 15 as this gig was much better...

But Mick *didn't* pop up on this video, he just sort of struts out from sidestage after the song starts. Maybe something went wrong with the riser? The below-stage shot of Mick to which you refer is from the Miami PPV that was released on dvd; there seems to be alot of confusion between those two releases.

Nothing wrong with the riser, they played around with the pop-up vs strut intro through most of the U.S. tour, as I recall.

AH I wasn't aware, he popped up at all the shows I saw.

Jagger strolls out on the Miami pay per view. He uses the riser on the Giant's stadium video.

Re: Voodoo Lounge Giants Stadium Video

You have it backwards Glam, Giants is the pop-up, Miami is the strut out.

Re: Voodoo Lounge Giants Stadium Video

Yes yes yes....I remember him strutting out in East Lansing as well as New Orleans and also on the PPV.

I did see, on some stoopid show like ET, some video of him popping up, which I presume was from early in the tour. Did he literally pop up? Like fly up in the air? Or just rise up like something in Star Wars?

And what's this about the lamp post? I have never seen any pictures regarding a lamp post in the middle of the Voodoo stage. Did anyone ever see that or is that just something Mick used to make a point?

I saw the Birmingham show - 2nd city of the tour - and I had no idea how he just appeared on stage. The riser moved very quickly.
