No doubt the Dell commercial is helping sales.
It's running regularly after the SuperBowl now in the US. I must admit I like hearing Mick's voice coming out of the telly.

Gazza, yes, it's pretty banal, but the guyin the commercial is acting very much like Mick in the video which is interesting, since the guy is fairly ordinary. Plays to the perhaps universal desire to be loved and admired. I'm not focusing on the words much either, more the rhythm, voice. In context of the ad it's a rather unusual sound, as commercials go. Plus we're hearing a much longer sectin than say, the smidget from "I'm Free" or maybe it just seems that way. :-)

yes, the Chase commercial with I'm Free started off with the full chorus and over time mixed it so much that we only got the words "i'm free" here and there.

erik - thanks for the list of solo autobiographical stuff- i'll have to listen - i must admit, i only have one of his solo albums (WS)

I think the guitar part is really great. The drum is a sampled one, and that's pretty bad. Ah, of couse it's always good when an harmonica part is in!

skipstone, I understand and sympathise where you're coming from completely.

However, I have a weak spot for the guilty pleasure of Mick's dance solo stuff - maybe it's because my wife loves it SO much (she's a Mick fan - NOT a Stones fan they do exist, believe it or not).

Maybe because I'm greatly amused by it's campiness and unintentional humor; kind of like how, while I can't stand the song 'Let's Work', the video breaks me up everytime! I don't think we're supposed to take any of it seriously - I doubt Mick does!

I don't let it take away from how awesome he is with the Stones. Just think; the more solo stuff like this he does, the less chance of it creeping onto a Stones album!

There's a pretty new radio station here in New York called Pulse 87.7. It plays really good dance music, and it's been playing Charmed Life a lot. It's like it's a big single on top 40 or something. This station plays everything from the new Taylor Dayne to old school TLC. Very good station.

I don't get how this song is doing well?

It is one of the worst Stones related songs ever made.

Kirk - we all know that taste is subjective. A lot of people like it, obviously.
