My first guess would be that they were taken in Mustique

The hair looks like that period. I couldn't tell if I was looking at trees or rocks. i decided rocks, that and with his shirt opened that way, made me think he was on an island.

Yeah, ws - I would say that is pretty definitely the same day. I always get Massachusetts and Mustique mixed up, they look so similar ;-)

Interesting. I could see Texas as part of the reason I was thinking it was Mustique was because it looked only partly grassy, mostly dry ground, whereas Massachusetts in that area is pretty green. Texas is pretty dry also.

But it does very much look like the 2nd photo with sssoul posted that were taken in Massachusetts so that's weird.

It's a new mystery!!!

My guess is that Jerry simply didn't know herself, or maybe she had an assistant to find pictures for her.
Photos in books are very often misplaced, as their function is merely to resemble what the author is writing about....

well ... photographers sometimes get their photos mixed up too!
(how's that for a multi-purpose statement!) :E
the one i posted of Mick on horseback is definitely by Ken Regan, and he had it dated 1981,
which looks about right ... maybe he got the Longview Farm part wrong?
anyway they're both sweet shots and they look good together too.
i think i'll consider them both "probably 81/Ken Regan" until further notice.

Schillid - is that even a real photo? It looks like something that was photoshopped together. As a matter of fact, the Keith part looks very similar to the photo in the middle that with sssoul posted on page 1, taken maybe a few moments before or after.

either way it looks like Ken Regan got his venues mixed up - but until further notice 1981 still seems right-ish.

Anyway according to NME the actual date of the shot is June 8. And the photos are shot in Balcony Field, Swarkestone near Derby, in case you didn't know.

Yes with sssoul my dear friend all from Jerry Hall Tall Tales book but
it's from a Sun World newspaper article so I wouldn't pay it much attention...
