DVD preference ???? slick so-so performances vs. video classics

I was watching the BB DVD guest singers clips and a couple of things jumped out for me. First the obvious difference between the video quality, between a set up filming night vs. clips from the video screen footage. The dedicated film nights also have more filming angles and effects.

Now the Bonnie Raitt one was pretty bang on, she was wiped out and it showed, she made a point of mentioning it during her set. But the Dave Mathews, Let it Bleed was an instant classic for me. Dave looked like this was his one chance to realy rock it up, Keith rocked the hell out of it and Dave rode it home...just a great one-off. Problem is, do I prefer a classic clip of a one-off performance with a poorer video quality, or staged filming in higher quality but you run the risk of hitting poor performances and mistakes.

So what is your preference. I'm thinking a little more of a mix may be the answer. I like a whole concert show but they are repeditive in set lists and we may be missing the classic song moments. The video can catch more classic moments but at the cost of glitz?

I think maybe one full concert show and lots of classic song clips.
