besides the footage, Gered Mankowitz took some photos of that incident - all the lights in the place had all blown out, and he says he was asked to keep using his flash so they could see enough to help Keith. it was Bill who unplugged his guitar ... and from the Why Do You Think They Call It Trivia Department: Keith reportedly took acid the first time a few days later - Electric Keith Week

Edith Grove, the footage was posted real briefly on the auction site last year or whenever it was but then they took it down. it was pretty harrowing to watch - that voltage wasn't fooling around
I've seen that that happened at the Memorial Auditorium or Municipal Auditorium in Sacramento. I'm not sure what the Municipal Auditorium is (or was) but if it's the Memorial Auditorium, the place is still there. It's a wonderful place to see a concert. I've seen Dylan there a couple of times. It's one of those brick buildings, the type that don't get built anymore.
... more from the Why Do You Think They Call It Trivia Department: a guy who was an electrician at the venue at the time apparently still works there and gives guided tours of the place (or anyway he did about two years ago). Keith's Electric Incident is the pièce de résistance

My older brother (the original Stones fan in the family) was there, but I have never really got the details from him. He was also at Altamont.
I can tell u that, as a native Sacramentan, it is called the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. I used to go there for circuses, large Catholic religious doings, and I did see the Dead and I think Robin Trower there. Oh, and also The Tubes who wrote one of our anthems "White Punks on Dope."
And the Beach Boys recorded one of their early live albums there, full of screaming adolescent girls.
