Setlist:

1. Good Times Bad Times
2. Ramble On
3. Black Dog
4. In My Time of Dying
5. For Your Life
6. Trampled Underfoot
7. Nobody's Fault But Mine
8. No Quarter
9. Since I've Been Loving YOu
10. Dazed & Confused
11. Stairway To Heaven
12. The Song Remains The Same
13. Misty Mountain Hop
14. Kashmir
Encore:
15. Whole Lotta Love

Setlist with comments from NME:

'Good Times Bad Times'
"The set started with a clip from 'The Song Remains The Same' DVD with an American news clip telling of they broke The Beatles' attendance record for a gig in 1973 in California. Simple stage set, video screen behind the band."

'Ramble On'
"'Ramble On' done in extremely slow, bluesy manner, with shards of electric guitar from Jimmy Page."

'Black Dog'
"Page wearing dark shades, quite muddy sound. Crowd singing the 'ah-ah' bits back at Plant."

'In My Time Of Dying'
"Page is playing bottleneck guitar. Plant spoke for the first time before song, saying 'Good evening'."

'For Your Life'
"That's not something you get to hear often these days, Led Zeppelin giving a song its live debut."

'Trampled Under Foot'
"Before starting Plant told the crowd it was the band's attempt to sound like Robert Johnson's 'Terraplane Blues'."

'Nobody's Fault But Mine'
"There are huge screen's dominating the O2 Arena, they split into four sometimes, goes monochrome, colour etc...quite spectacular."

'No Quarter'
"Following the song Plant paid tribute to John Paul Jones, who played keyboards and bass on the track."

'Since I've Been Loving You'
"A bit of a style guide for you, all the band are dressed in black bar Page who is rocking a white shirt. As for the song they gone for the epic version....very bluesy."

'Dazed And Confused'
"Settle yourselves in, we're expecting a ten minute version of this classic... it was. At the end of it of the song Plant told the audience 'On guitar Jimmy Page, just as he did on 'The Song Remains The Same' DVD which was filmed in Madison Square Garden in the 70s."

'Stairway To Heaven'
"What do you think happened? Right! From the moment those opening notes rang out the whole audience went absolutely crazy. The atmosphere is electric. Afterwards Plant said "Ahmet, we did it!"

'The Song Remains The Same'
"A fairly straight version of the classic. The sound is still a bit muddy and quiet though."

'Misty Mountain Hop'
"Plant kicked this one off by praising the job drummer Jason Bonham has been doing, stepping into his late father's shoes tonight."

'Kashmir'
"Yet another epic, as this song cracks the ten minute mark. Plant introduced this one declaring 'We've got people from 50 countries here and this is the 51st'. Afterwards they left the stage to loud applause. Will they do an encore? What do you reckon..."

'Whole Lotta Love'
"... of course they come back to deafening applause. And it's an extended version of the old 'Top Of The Pops' theme. Then once more the band leave the stage with a visibly emotional Plant declaring:
'Thanks to everybody. Thanks Ahmet Ertegun, this one for is Ahmet Ertegun as we remember the days when Atlantic Records was the best label on the planet!'."

Sounds like a great show to me. I hope they'll tour next year ... what do you think the chances are?

That's the Way.....boring!
Over the hills....one of my personal favorites, but never sounded that great live.

Sounds like a good show to me. Let's see how it compares to my predicted setlist.

1.Rock & Roll
2.The Song Remains The Same
3.Misty Mountain Hop
4.In The Evening
5.Nobody's Fault But Mine
6.Since I've Been Loving You
7.Thank You
8.For Your Life
9.Black Dog
10.Custard Pie
11.The Rover
12.Communication Breakdown
13.Kashmir
Encore
14.Dazed & Confused
15.Stairway To Heaven

Looks like I got 10 of 16. But I was pretty close on the number of songs. Plus I did have them finishing with Kashmir and do a 2 song encore. Not exactly rocket science. But I think the biggest surprise even though it was on the rehearsal list was IMTOD. I have a buddy who's favorite Zep song is IMTOD and he had a co-worker who actually went to the show and called up my buddy and let him listen to a little bit of it, while they were playing it. My buddy was pretty pumped about it.
Pretty good setlist. A little warhorse heavy and emphasizing longer songs. They could have done shorter ones and played more. But we will wait and see if any more shows come out of this.

Is There such a thing as a "Warhorse" when you haven't played for 27 years?

If the Stones hadn't toured since 1980 would you complain about hearing Brown Sugar?

Looking at this setlist, I see surprisingly ample opportunity to use the bathroom.

Yeah, good point...what's a Zep warhorse and what's a rarity at this point? lol

I'd be happy to hear/see a two hour Zep show full of "war horses" so to speak...

Now if I see them 20 times on their pending tour and the songs remain the same every night, then the shows would get boring quickly.

16 songs in 2 hours, D & C was only 10 minutes, if what you say is true, you aren't a zep fan and shouldn't be going to their shows

The set-list sounds about right to me. I'm sure they'll mix it up as they go.

How long did they play? 2 hours?

Fu#k the band wearing all black. That Sucks, though I'm assuming it was out of respect for the late Ertugen. I want to see the wild out-fits. New ones!

What's the read on the musicianship? Was everyone in top form? How many octaves lower is Plant singing these days? Was there just one drummer for the whole show. I thought I saw a bald guy playing drums on the news? Was Page straght/sober? How well did he play?

You're right about the extended versions crap. I'm sure the band likes them for whatever reason but I could do without them myself. I'd love to hear a "true to the record" version of Whole Lotta Love instead of the bastardized extended improvizations they do with it in concert.

I'm sure they'll get the Sound together and an awesome stage presentation built for the tour.

Ditto also Immigrant Song...though I wonder if ol' Robert can hit those high notes on that one still!!!

As for what is a warhorse or isn't in regard to Zep. Well I think most people just regard hit songs as being so-called warhorses. Maybe not fair for a band that hasn't toured in over 25 years. But considering the ample number of boots and official live releases of LZ out there. It's not like the die-hard fans have'nt heard a large quantity of live material. I think a lot of people would like to hear more PG and Presence material. Which they did a bit of today.
I was fortunate to catch the last 2 American shows in Oakland at the tender young age of 15. I also saw Page on the Ronnie Lane benefit tour. I've seen Page/Plant on the No Quarter tour.I've seen Plant solo, I also saw TSRTS movie about 15 times. So yeah I'm a big Zep fan. I would go see them on tour. Altough they were never known for shaking the selist up much. So I would'nt expect anything much different then what was played tonight.

I saw The Firm - but no Zep or Bad Company on that tour.

Proud to say I've seen Page, but not at his best. Paul Rodgers is a fine vocalist, but no Plant. "Radioactive" was pretty cool though.

Keep in mind, Zep is capable of sounding much different every night even with the exact same setlist.

BTW, Paul Rogers sounded great, doing "All Right Now" with the Rhythm Kings, and a solo "Seagull". The highlight of the warmup acts. I was squirming uncomfortably during Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is." Ehrtegun apparently loved that song, but I thought it was terribly mawkish, complete w/children's choir.

LOL...there was a thread on this site dedicated to the topic of "Bathroom Break Songs", or go to the concession stand.

During Stones shows I go right after Keef is introduced and he has his words of wisdom for the evening.

During Greatful Dead shows it was during "Drums" or sometimes right in the middle of the floor where everybody else was pissing. Grateful Dead shows were much different though, very different. Lots of pee, body odor, purple kool-aid, brown acid, etc.
