OT:Zeppelin Mon. night: Set List Predictions

At the risk of being hammered for another setlist thread (even a Zeppelin one). I can't help but get a little bit pumped for the Led Zeppelin reunion show tomorrow night and hopefully a tour to follow. So here is a semi-serious attempt at a setlist for the O2 Mon night. Please take into consideration we don't know the exact format,length,Etc.etc. So here is a 15 song setlist that I think could be played.

1.Rock & Roll
2.The Song Remains The Same
3.Misty Mountain Hop
4.In The Evening
5.Nobody's Fault But Mine
6.Since I've Been Loving You
7.Thank You
8.For Your Life
9.Black Dog
10.Custard Pie
11.The Rover
12.Communication Breakdown
13.Kashmir
Encore
14.Dazed & Confused
15.Stairway To Heaven

i predict they'll do a cover of something that no one would predict. maybe their original take on something country;
but i would bet they'd come up with something new or some old cover no one would expect.
probably wrong. just a feeling. first zep show i saw early on in their career they did 'hello mary lou goodbye heart' and my mind's still blown from that frankly, thus i make the general prediction that they'll do an unexpected cover of something outside of their known catalog.

I'm sure something cool will happen beeley. The Early buzz is that they are going to play For Your Life as the big surprise.

I would like to see them open with "Stairway" and when they are done playing it say "Goodnight" wave and walk off stage for a few minutes.

Interesting Set List SCL... I wouldn't even try to do one (I think I can be about 75% accurate to what songs they will play but forget about the order) The one thing I disagree on is that they will open with a song they've never opened with before. That leaves out TRAIN KEPT A ROLLIN' - 1980 Euro Tour/SONG REMAINS THE SAME - 1977/ROCK AND ROLL - 1975 and 73/IMMIGRANT SONG - 1972,71,70..... What was the opener before that? COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN/ GOOD TIMES/Bad TIMES? What ever way back.... Should be SUPER interesting...is anybody from IORR going?

I predict (from your list) IN THE EVENING is the opener.....

Rock And Roll is a perfect opener in this case IMHO:

Cant imagine it'll be a full length show (ie 3-4 hrs) - not with 3 or 4 other acts on the bill. Maybe they'll play for about two hours

I would also imagine the setlist will be carefully chosen to reflect what Plant is capable of vocally these days (Read a week or two ago that theyve had to change the keys of certain songs to suit the fact that he now has to sing in a lower register). I doubt they'll play Moby Dick without Bonzo, either or that they'll do anything TOO Long (ie,20-30 minute versions of anything)

Probably a setlist consisting of several of the following :

Communication Breakdown
Dazed & Confused
Whole Lotta Love
Heartbreaker
Immigrant Song
Since I've Been Loving You
Black Dog
Rock 'n' Roll
Stairway To Heaven
No Quarter
Over The Hills And Far Away
Kashmir
Trampled Underfoot
All My Love
In The Evening

I hope they don't coninue where they left off ie: 1980, they sounded awful right b4 bonzo died, and Bonzo sounded the best of all of them that year. I Do not like the way Jones changes most of his organ sounds to piano. I hate to say it, but sounding like that, it's a good thing they never played the States in '80.

My guess is they will sound great tomorrow whatever songs they choose.

Gazza's list looks like it's the safest bet considering their past. 100 minutes means they will play between 1:45 and 2:00 IMO. They may do a few LZ songs Zep didn't do live that Plant or Plant/page did in post Zep days. But I guess in less than 24 hours we will know.

Yeah, Jimmy Page already said it will be AT LEAST a 2 hour show. All you guys are going way back too far into Zep History. First of all the short 1980 European Tour was about 2 to 2 1/2 hours long and the Page/Plant 1995 tour was of normal length - those days of mega 4 hour concerts and 30 minute MOBY DICK drum solo's are over. If they do a few longer ones it will be NO QUARTER and DAZED AND CONFUSED and both CAN be kept down to a reasonable 10 minutes if need be. WHOLE LOTTA LOVE can be long if they do the 5 to 7 song medley in the middle but that's kind of over too so I wouldn't expect it. I know there's a 7 in 2007 but "the 70's" are over and so are 4 hour concerts - even Jerry ain't around for a mega DEAD show anymore..... THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'......

I agree with Gazza's setlist EXCEPT for : TRAMPLED UNDERFOOT (NO way)/OVER THE HILLS/and/IMMIGRANT SONG - I doubt any of those will be played plus Page said FOR YOUR LIFE is IN so make room for that one...

Plant has said several times Trampled Underfoot is one of his favorite Zep songs. It will hardly be a shock if they play that one.

Bwsides, they played it EVERY tour from the time it came out ('75) onwards.

Don't believe they did it on the PAGE/PLANT tour, never heard of him reworking it for his solo shows, it's a fine song but we're talking extreme time limit here......
Every Tour? 75, 77, 80 + Knebworth '79 (believe not, not 100% sure) Hardly a big chunk of the span of their entire touring years.... but whatever, it's just not vital when you only have 2 hours and dozens of vital songs to pick from ......might be wrong though, never know...

Yeah but theres a keyboard part to it, which maybe suits Jones better, I dont know.

I picked it more out of hope than anything because its one of my favourites, and because its one of the best known songs on that album.

I did omit any acoustic numbers though - so that has to be a possibility too.

Gotta admit Gazza, TRAMPLED does rock BIG TIME at the Earls Court show on the 2 Disc Brilliant Zep DVD box set. Remember seeing them do it at the 75 LA Forum show but somehow it hits me a lot stronger on the DVD. Don't know why that is but it's a solid Zep song 4sure... yeah, acoustic, I wonder if they're gonna do 2 or 3 sit down songs...we'll soon know......
