Well, you just gotta laugh at 'ol J.R. as it's always been his schtick when he's in character.
It's good to see he put the Rotten back into Johnny as the Lydon was boring.

But to answer his question as to what the Stones have done for society...they influenced sociological changes/attitudes in the 60's, produced some of the best rock music ever and most imprtantly...they made millions of people in society very happy for 45 years!

Rotten is always antisocial, but I liked the Sex Pistols back in the day and they are amusing.

Very rare to see a post one can totally agree with - but here it is ;-)

I never did understand this mentality that says if you like other bands - you like the Stones a little less.....

I mean - the reason the Stones can play all kinds off stuff - rock, rock'n'roll, samba, reggae, country, soul, blues and whatnot, you name it - is the fact they draw on a lot of influences - not just one source of music.

That guy is about as stimulating as doing taxes. He only wishes he had half the balls of the Stones, joke or not.

Didn't him and all the other "punk" wannabes used to break into Keith's shack at Ronnie's house to steal his clothes? They're just posers. I expect more anti-socialism and anarchy from Rosie O'Donnel or something like that.

He was only joking. What a shitty newspaper the Mirror must be. They totally took his remark out of context. You can listen to the interview here [www.virginradio.co.uk]

The Stones comment is in the first minute.

thanx for the actual interview. i guess those papers work because it's not hard to get people reactionary or brutal over a joke on a telephone interview which he immediately followed by saying the who and the stones were alright with him;

it's a microcosm for the stupidity and reactionarism he so righteously rails against. great to hear him in such good humor and obviously excited about recent successes. you can hear it in the band. there is committment and dedication and heart. one more time a provacative and empty headed headline written by the worst kind of media-whore gets everyone's panties in a knot over absolutely nothing. He's waaay too intelligent to actually dismiss the stones and the who. he knows what rocks.

sounds healthy, in great humor, relaxed with himself and all fired up to really put it out there for the fans. go johnny go.

the stones would do well to try to get them signed up for an opening spot. that would be a really grand and great, even historic concert by both bands, guaranteed.
