Why should he know the difference?

There's only one song which would even possibly feature sitar, but on the bootlegs from the tour and the footage from the gig mentioned in that article there's 2 guitars on Pain't It Black.

His instruments are all in view for the gigs that were photographed, which is most if not all of them and it's the same instruments at each gig.

I can only hear one guitar on the Paris '67 version. Do we have another live '67 recording where two guitars can be heard?

When Keith is soloing, Brian is playing chords just like he did on previous tours when they played Paint It Black.

The artcile is about Warsaw, you can hear the other guitar in the footage posted above.

Hi straycat 58.

You mean flute on "Satisfaction" ?
Someone said that is Gibson guitar feedback by Brian.

Can anyone hear Brain's instrument on Under My Thumb(paris 67) ?

What does he play on this? Marimbas can clearly be heard on one of the (two) 1966 'Got Live If You Want It' versions, so presumably he would've also used them in 1967?

The marimba is overdubbed on the got live Under My Thumb, he played guitar when they played it live.

Yes that is guitar feedback during Paris Satisfaction.

It's a shame that no bootlegger has attempted to compile the Brian-era footage really thoroughly. Theirs lots of good Beatles bootleg DVDs which devote themselves to specific tours (1964 first visit, 1964 U.S. tour, 1965 European Tour, 1965 U.S. tour, 1966 German-Far Eastern Tour, 1966 U.S. tour), all padded out with news footage, arrivals, home movies, press conferances etc, as well as pro TV appearances, promo videos, etc. It would be amazing if some enterprising RS bootlegger did something similar, as I'm sure there's enough good footage out there.

Interesting that Bill seems to be doing backing vocals. I always assumed he stopped doing that in 1965.

The radio recordings of these french sixties performances breathe fantastic raw energy. A rebroadcast of the complete shows would be wonderful.
