It looks real to me. I'd like to book him for a motivational speech. That'd be a hoot.

but Lukester honey ... plug anybody's name in there, and paste up some out-of-date bio,
and you too can be a booking agent for the stars!

LET'S BOOK HIM!!!!

We talked about booking the Stones - Keith will be much cheaper and I'd pay a lot to hang out with him for a while.

COME ON!! WHO'S IN???!!!

You can book him seriously! There's an agency in -I think it was L.A- whre you can book nearly all your heroes. Unfortunately I couldn't find their website anymore sad smiley

Keep on rollin'

Maybe if IORR can book each of the 4 Stones
separately for a private show...
It'd be cheaper (and better)
than booking the entire band.

actually i believe it's what's known as a "bait & switch" gambit -
that is, i bet the agency hopes someone will take it seriously.
let us know how they respond to your inquiry, LQ - but do read the fine print before you sign!

On the other hand
the agency itself appears to be real...

"...It's really bloomed in the last few years, especially the private parties," said Carol Grabow, whose family runs Grabow Entertainment, a talent booking agency.

"It used to be that wealthy people had their holiday parties at home with a few friends -- and that was enough. Now, they'll hire a celeb to mingle with guests or to entertain and to make that party extra memorable," Grabow said.

Next week, Grabow has arranged to get comic Dana Carvey to tell jokes at an energy company's holiday party in Houston. The cost: close to $100,000.
Other big favorites for Christmas and New Year's Eve: Patti LaBelle; Dave Navarro, for $20,000 to $30,000; porn star Tera Patrick, for $15,000 and up; and "Dancing With the Stars'" Mario Lopez, for $25,000 and up.

(As reported here.)

well, i put in a request for more info. i put $50,000 US as the budget. we'll see if that's enough for keith.

100 of us could go for $500US each or 200 for $250 each.

... has anyone else here listened to the commentary that's on the Gram Parsons Tribute dvd?
not that Keith did that gig for the money, but there's some interesting stuff in there
about the logistics involved. fascinating and educational :E

A private plane, if I'm not mistaken. Actually I'm sure this is a joke - or a way to get attention for the agency. I'm absolutely sure Keith would never do such a thing.

yep, a totally private plane is one aspect that commentary touches on, gstone/angel.
i'd had the dvd a couple of months before i even noticed the commentary, and it's fascinating.
i'm always hesitant to say any Stone "would never do" whatever, since ... well, they do what they want, don't they!
but i really really doubt that paying this agent is a way to lasso Keith
(or - sorry LQ! - that $50,000 would do it, even if he was in the job market).

With just the 4 of them, this would mean Ronnie switching to bass, so there would be just a single guitar. Or a bass player would have to be booked to help out. Darryl Jones is probably not considered a likely celebrity to be hired by rich people for a party, so he would have to be booked as a musician. A piano player should be there, too - better pick someone they know well for the "iorr party" or they won't play.
Then ask them to play obscure material and record the concert for a DVD release.
But hey, why don't they do it themselves like that in the first place?

That would be a "Rarities Live" type of release.

Now where is the rich girl in a poor man's house?

what about 100,000K?

man, now i'm thinking about the good causes that could benefit from that money...

LQ, i truly think this isn't a way to lasso Keith. a worthy cause would no doubt be a lot more promising way to go.
(and ... remember that the fees for the star turn are only part of the costs of setting up a show -
or a motivational talk :E if that's what we were picturing inviting Keith to do.)
i really do recommend that Gram Parsons dvd and the highly enlightening commentary!

What is said in Gram Parsons Dvd?

here's a news article about it - it seems like most of the celebs just hang out and mingle, some are paid by the hour. i'd almost prefer that, but then what would we do - stand in line for a chance to talk to him? winking smiley

[abcnews.go.com]

maybe have him on a revolving bar?

But who could they possibly use to do a bait and switch of Keith?!! Oh, yeah, Johnny Depp. I still wouldn't settle!

And, as for the revolving bar, I'd like to see him in the revolving dessert rack -- like they do with 7 layer cakes in diners in the US!

I suspect you can book just about anybody for anything... if you have enough money.
I don't think this means that you can expect Keith to turn up at your wedding or birthday party for a couple of hundred quid and all the shepherds pie he can eat though ;^)
