sorry, i started posting about this in Rockman's thread: [www.iorr.org]
but some of this stuff is so good it deserves a thread of its own: [www.christies.com]

dig the LYL tablecloth - that was just MADE for me! :E
and there's some strangely-familiar-sounding 72 MSG footage: [www.christies.com]
can CindyC please organize one of her Special IORR Fund Raisers so we can bid on it?

yeah, those letters to Linda Keith ... it's unsettling to see such personal stuff being auctioned.
it says she's the one selling them. i hope the fan club isn't taking it too hard.

I dont find much of this stuff very exciting. The Brian letters just seem kind of morbid or macabre.

The 72 reels maybe, but who wants that without sound?

with sssoul, i just don't have the time to do that right now, I just bought a fixer-upper house, and am still selling my other place too.

If you get the "rally the troops" email together, i'll do the behind the scenes collecting/buying/shipping part for ya though. Email me if ya want

ah thank you CindyC - i think i was sort of joking, and if you don't have time, i'm joking for sure.
three days is kinda short notice to be collecting $15,000 anyway, even if it is for Mick's Birthday Footage.
and ... does anyone else here remember the guy who was posting about this footage a few months ago?
wasn't he saying he wanted more like $200,000 for it? or am i hallucinating again?

I remember him and the crazy amount of money he expected.

Cindy, how about if you put the fund-raiser together and we will work on your house?

it says the final footage is shot on Jagger's 30th birthday on July 26th 1972, But Jagger was born in 1943 which would make him 29 not 30 as stated.

Brian, and Linda Keith? I thougth she was halv of the legendary "The Two Keiths" - Keith's girlfriend, who dumped him for Jimi Hendrix? Did she then team up with Brian? This is confusing indeed. With sssoul, Cindy, Rockman - and everyone, please enlighten me.

Linda Keith spent some time with Brian after Anita had moved on.
among other sources, Bill mentions it in Rolling With the Stones.
i've run into mention of Linda and Brian getting together occasionally before then too,
but i don't know if that's very accurate/reliable.

Oh! Oh dear. Well, it was the swingin' 60s. Thanks, with sssoul. I'm sure that kind of thing would complicate friendships a lot more today than back then?

i reckon then and now it depends on the people involved.
i don't think what's fashionable really changes how people feel about basic things -
even if it's considered cool at a given time to feel one way or another, people feel what they feel.
anyway i don't mean anything judgemental about any of these people - it ain't my business and it ain't my style.

Funny you say that. I remember a kind of magazine that was put out about the 72 tour (black with a Mick foto on the front where he is kind of "blurred-in-action" so to speak.

I havent really looked at it since I found it again several months ago and bought it on eBay. But my memories from back then recall a line something like "July 26 was the first day of Mick Jagger's 30th year." Now THAT is true.
