"I totally agree. the greatest bass lines of the Stones were never from Wyman"

Eh? Am I missing something???

I could list em but it's so stupid I can't be arsed!

When you divorce after 30 years, do you want your wife back 15 years later???
No, even if she did good stuff in these 30 years, but now there's a new kid on the block.
Life goes on. When it's gone, it's gone.
It's as simple as that

And when you are going for a meal, you might want to try out a "hip and trendy" restaurant.
It could be interesting, and taste good for a while.
But after a a few weeks, you will suddenly remember the great steak at Grand Hotel Restaurant. Sadly, that restaurant has closed when you go to check.
And you have to back to that hip and trendy restaurant, which has turned into a cheap and trashy place in your eyes by this time.
The meals will never be same. Luckily you still have the old menu from Grand Hotel. It brings back memories of the real deal.
Thank you.

Yes! Wyman is the real deal. And anyone who doesn't think so does not appreciate the very foundation of the allegedly greatest rock and roll band in the world. Or perhaps is not familiar with the bulk of the Stones' songs.

yes, except for all their concert and stage material and Everything they present to the public for decades on end. the stones ALWAYS look back. that's how they get their bread buttered. and why not? it's good stuff...i remember first hearing most of the same set in play now 35 years ago and being quite impressed.

when there's the rare exception of something either new or novel; it gets threads for days...they do little else but look back when it comes to almost 100% of what they offer on stage these last several decades...and the ubiquitious umpteen live albums.

matters not to me what the setlist is...but a
'very simple, the stones never look back"
as gunfighter legendary dramatatic as it sounds, is simply untrue.
they're in the business of selling yesterday's papers, albeit with some presence and power from time to time. nostaligia is a big part of what an oldies band is selling. the entire career is looking back.

and i don't care about in what direction they 'look' anyway...
not my affair or business...
wyman can never be ignored as a Stones member...because he's all over the catalogue, and most essential concert footage, in perpetuity.

wyman ruled the world and quit the band when he wanted to, at the right time for him, and seems quite happy with his life as is, bless him.

there were two or three greatest hits compilations in just the first few years, such was the impact of the band. you can't erase bill without erasing their entire recorded catalog and legendary live history, with the exception of the 90's records and abb, which they don't promote or play.

yes he is ignored nowadays as he should be, he quit he wasnt fired, why should they worry about him, he didnt care when he walked out so thats that, even charlie said bill crossed the line, if its good enough for charlie than it should be good enough for us

Lets face it The Stones are a better band without him. He never came up with any great lines. the top 7 or 8 are by Keith or someone else. So he was an original so what. He hated The Stones music. he said so on a few occasions. Why would you want someone in your band that can't eve stand playing YOUR music.

DonĀ“t you think it`s sometimes wise not to do so?

Just listen to Hampton 81, the basslines are simple,
but they are the cream on that sweet cake. Just for
that show I will always miss him.

Ive saw them both several times.
I have seen D.Jones with Miles Davis several times, and he
plays on MD "decoy".
He is a great bassplayer, amongst others,Stanley Clarck(Yes,he played wit Keith Richard) Jeff Berlin,..........Jack Bruce (yes ,MT)
Bill.W was the right guy in the right time..but to compare him with
D.Jones?
