I love this tune too. Now you can easily guess the second name "... it was her second name" of my daughter.

And it's a crying shame that's not included on the circulating El Mocambo recording. I like Melody as well, cheers Rooster

Great song, like other 'different' Stones songs like Miss you, Fool to Cry, Dance, Disko Musik, etc.
The Sephard Bush version is fun but not great

I once knew a girl named Melody, named after this song, her parents were stones fans. I never forget the moment she said her name wauw...
And I love the song, that jazzy gitar by keith, yeahh and great duet with Billy.
Funny that Bill wyman still plays it

Ive always liked Melody. I know it was played in 99 but I think this would be a great song for pre show music over the PA system before the concert.

Yeah, as I recall, it had something to do with his having too many teenaged white boys around on the road too. And they weren't 18 or 19.

Could be inspired by the late great Serge Gainsbourg (Histoire De Melody Nelson): "Tu apelles...common?" ... "Melody". And why shouldn't it be Jane Birkin? I find it highly imaginable.

I love the song. I listened to it a few times today. "Cherry O Baby" does it for me too.

I love this song. it's got THE GROOVE, MAN. handclaps, piano, vocal dynamics. just goes to prove that a song considered average by stones standards is still a great song.

I love the camp-on stage with Preston and in lyrics:

looking for me high and low like a mustard for a ham!!!!

only mick could get away with writing that!
