...and I think we're pretty cool with smoke up here, but it's not decriminalized yet so don't go nuts. That said, there was more smoke at the Roger Waters concert in July than I have ever seen, anywhere, ever. Walked into the Skydome and thought it was some sort of fog machine for a minute... didn't realize Roger Waters was so FUNNY and where can I get some licorice...? But... at Springsteen on Monday, not a whiff until the encore. Go figure...

Just got Amy's new DVD, Live At Shepards Bush for my birthday. Anyone just getting into her could do no better than to check this out.

Thanks ! Another christmas present for my wife. The Paris show was not too bad after all the bad press. She could definitely have been more into the show, but never mind - some moments were magic.

She's due to play Birmingham tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. What a voice! I just hope that the gig is on given her husband's well publicised problems.

actually canada is one of the hardest countries to get a work visa in if you have convictions on your record, including marijuana possesion convictions. all bands and their crew can tell you stories about drama at the border with canada-people being refused entry etc.so-i really wouldn't be surprised if immigration canada revoked her work visa, hopefully not though she if fantastic live (when shes not too smacked out)...

Thinking about it, musicians and celebrities should be glad they live in an era where the media covers every little incident where they are drunk or doing drugs in public or naked or whatever. Imagine if that had happened with Brian Jones, or Keith Moon, or Jimi Hendrix, or any of the fallen great ones. Theyd have been forced to clean up because the press wouldve been all over them with "torrid" tales of drug abuse and missed rehab dates, etc.
(I know Keith and Mick were arrested in 1967, but not only was it a planted bust, but I have never seen where the press put out headlines such as : "Keith Richards Found Stoned Again at NightClub!"or "mick Jagger: the Shocking truth of what goes on at (I forgot the name of Micks home during 1967), or better yet: Nellcote: Drugs, Sex and Booze: A Sad decadent story"

i think the press was all over brian

amy is being targetted; keith is establishment and it's mega corporate so there will be no cops climbing about. they play parties for ex presidents. one of them is knighted. they represent big bux...

if keith went to jail or rehab in the late sixties, there wouldn't have been a golden age...like it or not; pretty or not...from banquet to exiles there would be nothing...
and there wasn't the 'disease model' of alcholism/drug addiction at the time; there was just jail. and i'm not gonna second guess, or judge his lost years as a druggie, seeing how he was also at the apex of his brilliance at the same time...and sometimes, even now, who knows, he might have a little drink or something before a show...drugs are a fact. they push particularly dangerous ones all day long on television. murderous ones.

u don't think any given backstage area for any give big band wouldn't have some member of the performance team or crew with meds of various sorts, controlled substances or not?

it's pot. leave her alone.

Considering the fact that the Redlands bust was set up by a NEWSPAPER after Mick had threatened to sue them for their front page headline the previous week "Pop Stars and drugs - The Truth" (when they reported an 'interview' with Mick in a nightclub ranting on about how much drugs he was taking - when the unsuspecting interviewee was actually Brian), I'm not so sure where you get that idea from.....
