I bought mine in a bookshop on Friday. It seems there's also an audio version coming out in a week or two. It would be good if he's the narrator.

For anyone feeling lucky, details of a competition to win a signed copy and poster are here:

Yes - I don't think it's a requirement to buy a book on the night, is it? If yes. then whoops...

Got mine Saturday. Up to the end of the Jeff Beck Group.

Never believed the story about being asked to join the Stones in 69, definately don't believe he was asked to be the last member to join Zeppelin !

while i'm waiting for mine to be delivered: does Ronnie mention being at Hyde Park on july 5th 1969?
nzentgraf.de has him located on a different continent on that date, so ... i'm curious.

Have only so far read up to the same place as The GR but I cheated and looked ahead - and yes, he does mention being at Hyde Park. On page 96, to be precise.

Up to 1975 Stones tour.

Can't believe how little coverage he gave the Faces. I think he spends more pages on the Clapton Rainbow concert than on his contribution to Rods solo work.

Received mine yesterday as a gift for my 30th Birthday. Had a quick flick through and it looks good. I'll start reading it tonight.

I think I've bust a button on my trousers....

Just got mine delivered today - thank goodness Amazon UK aren't using the Post Office for deliveries now or I would still be waiting for this and Mick's solo effort and the Marsha Hansen book, among other things. Nice parcel to work my way through.

Wood was on tour with Beck in the States when Hyde Park took place. The hole strory of him being there in '69 is rubbish.

But didn't the Beck Group splinter sometime around summer '69? Is there any chance that any aborted JBG shows are mistakenly listed as having been played, maybe based on old published intineraries or something along those lines?

A NY record biz friend of mine who was great friends with Ronnie says that Ronnie was in NY with Beck and not at Hyde Park.

yeah, the Hyde Park recollection is a mystery -
i wonder if it was at the previous Hyde Park concert (june 7th) that Ronnie ran into Charlie & Mick??
chronology definitely doesn't play a starring role in this part of the autobiography.
i'm enjoying it a lot anyway.

can you say how it seems to be organized, if not by chronology? that excerpt posted a couple of weeks ago was... hard to follow.

Up to the druggie years 80-84

>> can you say how it seems to be organized, if not by chronology?

well ... that wasn't an excerpt - it was a whole bunch of little tiny excerpts
plucked from different parts of the book.

the organization of the book is mainly roughly chronological, but sort of "thematic" as well:
it's very anecdotal, and sometimes one story leads naturally to another story from another era.

~*warning: some might consider the next bit a "spoiler"*~

there are also times when it seems like things have been been excised or rearranged,
and also times when the chronology seems to have simply gone south, but i think that's pretty normal -
asking Ronnie to reminisce, i don't expect it to be super-orderly. :E
it's nicely written, entertaining, not very reflective ... it *is* odd how little he says about the Faces years,
but i reckon there are reasons for that too. anyway ... i'm enjoying it. i'd like more about the music,
but it doesn't ever surprise me when musicians aren't verbal about music. that's why they make records :E

well, if we're going to be picky ... he got the year of the Copacabana Beach show wrong too,
right on Page 1. i did wince at that, i admit.
but it's not like the whole book is riddled with glaring errors - chronology just isn't the main point.
