Reminds me of all the baseball and other cards I collected as a kid and still have i.e. Willie Mays, Willie Mantle, Hank Aaron, and all the unknowns.

Got back into it in the 90s when the whole thing became a money thing and an industry, but as a boy, I simply did it for love of baseball.

Could this be the start of another card frenzy for me??!! I just ordered 3 packs off eBay, so I can check them out.

So, what do y'all think?

Collectibles, mostly by young kids.

I used to collect baseball cards. Back in the 60's you could get a pack of 5-10 cards with a stick of bubble gum for about ten cents. Kids would trade them for their favorite players or try to collect as many as possible.

Some cards are worth big bucks now and are traded at conventions, etc.

Those cards are gorgeous.

Would it have been so painful to dedicate honorary cards to some of the side players, like the background singers (Bernard, Lisa, Blondie --together or separately), Chuck, Bobby Keyes, the rest of the horn section and Daryl . . . not to mention a single card dedicated each of the past full-fledged band members (Brian, Mick T and Bill, although I know you know who they are)? Bill deserves more than being included in the IORR and Some Girls covers and the tour poster from 1976. C'mon, give Bill a detail from the HYSYMB,SITS single sleeve, at least!

Unless I overlooked something, those folks are not represented. Maybe there are sheets not shown here,

A nod to the fans (the cover subjects of No Security) would have nice, too.

Some darker proposed inclusions might include Allen Klein, Sonny Barger and Phil Spector, and some sentimental ones would include Nicky Hopkins, Billy Preston, Ian Stewart, Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg.

A few real out-in-left-field cards: Chip Monck, Jimmy Miller, Melvin Belli, Claudine Longet, Margaret Trudeau, the movie star, the professor and Mary Ann. But now I'm just being silly.

Where is BV's card?!

More pertinent to this discussion: WHAT IS ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THE CARDS?!?!

By the way, the special edition of the new Dylan collection also includes a set of cards.

What is this shit? I already see them 55 year old kids trading Rolling Stones cards, for sure. I'm waiting for the tongue imprinted toilet paper still, so they can kiss MY arse for once.

For a price of $80 you could at least expect a book with full-sized pictures of these (I admit it) great collection. Still it would be a book with only 150 pages.

Btw, the flavourless chewing gum thing had been done already, in the 80s, with Rolling Stones album covers. I already had bought two of them before I realized what I was doing... and the chewing gum wasn't no good either.

You make a lot of good suggestions ... and I suggest you ask and write the company at the address I provided above. Yes, I very much wondered about the back of the cards. Think, like baseball stats, they could have stats on Wyman's number of women conquests or the like. By year and so on.

How about a set of IORR trading cards, of course starting with BV but we could have some real fun with that.

My biggest regret about these cards is not that they don't have the side players or Mick Taylor, but that THEY DON'T HAVE THE PLEXIGLASS!!!

Why not have a whole line of PLEXIGLASS cards, with a different setlist on each one?

I'd of loved this when I was 10. I used to be mad on the Premier Leauge football stickers.

Now though? Nah. Its just another $ opportunity for the fat cats.

Oh what next?!!

Granted Rolling Stone fans ARE getting up in years.
And as we get older and older we do tend to return to our youthful hobbies.

Can see this in the Nursing homes we will be inhabiting, with @#$%& blasting on the PA system and all the gray hairs sorting through their Rolling Stone trading cards. Oh the fights that will erupt when someone steals all my Mick jumpsuits!!!

Re: New Rolling Stones Trading Cards

It seems odd that these cards are not sold on the Stones official website. And what's with the "uncut" riff.

In any case, do not part with your Bill Wymans!

Re partydoll Meg's brilliant remarks, I have asked my friends to slap me silly if, when I reach 90, I am making comments like:

"Ooh you know Mick was so cool in his Leo t-shirt"

or

"I just want to freak out when 'Satisfaction' comes on the radio."

Amos Otis and Otto Graph were make believe baseball players that were enshrined on cards in Towntalk Break products back in the 70's. Amos Otis may have been a real player...someone google it.
