Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2 Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix Welcome To The Jungle - Guns N' Roses
14 seconds of great guitars, the rest ain't bad either. a song that Big Star would have beeen well proud of.
Oh and writer Gerry Love aint a half bad bas player either " when asked who he'd have in his dream band Pixies Frank Black said 2dunno but i'd have to have Gerry Love on bass"

Welcome To The Jungle is an awesome intro. You hear this song played at alot of sporting events in North America to get the crowd pumped up. Several AC/DC tunes like Hells Bells, You Shook Me, Whole Lotta Rosie (especially live), etc. Also throw in a few VH like Ain't Talkin Bout Love, Panama, You Really Got Me.
Great thread! I'd forgotten how important a superb intro can be in making an ordinary song into a classic.
