Walter Yetnikoff is the Clive Davis you've never heard of. That's all about to change. In his new memoir, Howling at the Moon (Broadway, $25), written with David Ritz, the flamboyant former CEO of CBS Records shares stories of cocktails and "milk" (his pet name for cocaine). We asked Yetnikoff for a word or two on his highest-profile clientele.

Bob Dylan: "One night I took the Zimmerman clan out to dinner, and it was like being at a Jewish seder. Thomas Zimmerman, Uncle Sadie, Papa Harry, his mother. Dylan's girlfriend at the time is there cutting his food. The whole time, his mother's pestering him, saying, 'Bobby, Bobby, you gotta eat.' I said, 'What the @#$%& is going on here?'"

The Rolling Stones: "Three o'clock in the morning, and we were finally about to sign the Stones. I tell Mick, 'I need two singles on every record.' And he says, 'You decided you know our music better than we do?' And Jagger starts coming out of his chair: 'You @#$%&...' And I said to myself, I'm gonna hit him. I was gonna punch all 98 pounds of him...but I just didn't want to see the next day's paper: MUSIC EXEC KILLS MICK JAGGER."

Barbra Streisand: "My recollection is that she was schizophrenic. Not in the psychotic way, but when you scratched her, you either got a really frightened little girl or you got a pissed-off Barbra Streisand. So one time Barbra calls, and I try to convince her to do a duet with Julio Iglesias. I knew that that kind of duet would provide a good boost to her international sales. But Barbra couldn't believe it. 'You want me to record with that guy?'"
