thanks my dear! the Daddy Mack myspace page - [
www.myspace.com] - says:
"At a Foundation party in April of 1999, Rolling Stones Keith Richards and Ron Wood sat in with the band
and, as the story goes, they were able to keep up musically, but no one was shouting to hear 'Jumpin’ Jack Flash' either."
found a little more here: [
www.rollingstone.com]:
"The Rolling Stones shocked a party in honor of the Stone's road crew and hosted by the Blues Foundation last week
at the infamous Rendezvous Restaurant in Memphis. After tour manager Lil Gary blew out the candles on her birthday cake --
which was baked in the shape of a guitar with "Time Is on Your Side" emblazoned in frosting --
all attendants of the soiree were treated to a surprise appearance by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood.
Richards and Wood even joined the Daddy Mack Blues Band onstage -- playing into the wee hours with the Memphis natives.
According to the Stones' inner circle, not only is it extremely rare that any of the "Big 4" shows up for such an event,
but to have them sit in with the band, never ever happens ..."
aha! according to [
www.memphisflyer.com] the party was on the night of april 7th/8th:
"Fans of the Rolling Stones looking to get an early sneak peek at the band were on the lookout at B.B. King's on April 7th,
when word spread that the self-styled World's Greatest Rock-and-Roll Band, in town for a sold-out appearance
the next night at The Pyramid, would be dropping in following a birthday celebration for their road manager at the Rendezvous.
Alas, however, no Stones, though celebrity watchers were treated to the band's warm-up act,
teen guitar phenom Jonny Lang, jamming with the B.B King's house band. It seems the Stones never moved past the Rendezvous party,
where Keith Richards and Ron Wood both took the stage to jam with Daddy Mack Blues Band."
