Ronnie's autobiography shows a browning copy of his school report from 1959. He got a C and was 16th in his class for music theory. But an A and FIRST in the class for art and graphics, with the teacher's comment "Very advanced in this subject". The form teacher says that "his work in the Art Room is outstanding" and the headmaster says "I am pleased to see this ability at Art".

The book has some great photos in it - I've seen only a few of them before. Most of them are from what must be his own family and personal photo collection.

So far it's a great read about his childhood. Some of the anecdotes have cracked me up laughing!

You sure he wasn't talking about his brother?!

Thanks, bv, for sfae link.
They only had the three recent ones in color, not the "black" pieces displayed here also, along with some great, classic photos.

Rockman, hi! Life pretty decent, how about yourself? I usually try google before asking. You say you have the 2007 catalogue.

Hey Plexi, do you go to the SF Art Exchange ever? I go there a lot, met Ronnie there and bought one of his prints. Mick with Harmonica. Love it. Go to lots of openings there, it's fun. Mick Rock is having an opening 10/30 of all rock and roll photos from the 70's - should be some awesome photos.

Hi Sarey!

yeah, that's what I said in an earlier post -- was there in December and Melissa led me on an extensive tour of the Ronnie art as well as their rock n roll art and photos generally, even bringing me into the back room.

And I also went there, god, in about 95 when the prices on Ronnies work werent nearly as high. I have never bought anything there, although Melissa made me a decent offer on Forty Licks, but I managed to score it in Denver for far less than Melissa had offered it because my brother who lives there knows a former art gallery employee and she talked to her old bosses and got me a really good deal.

Yeah, I have really looked at that Mick on Harmonica -- it has two different background colors, right? -- I mean, you can get it with a red background colour which I slightly prefer or an aqua background color. I really like that piece, either way, but no more original expensive Ronnie art for me. I already have 2 now.

Yeah, I would love to go to an opening there. Melissa told me she would invite me but it would only work if I happen to be home at the time. I went to Ronnie's opening in Denver the night before the Thanksgiving show, got to shake hands and get a signature. It was wall to wall jam packed. When did you meet Ronnie at the SFAE?

Maybe next time I am home, we can go for a gallery visit together.

But more important, your presence will be expected at the BAP meeting that will be held when I am home next -- the Bay Area Plexiglass Society. You have no choice, you are automatically in, a member.

Anyway, enuf.

Hi,

If anyone would like any information about any available Ronnie art please just drop me an email at: mattleeuk@gmail.com

I have direct access to his full range (including originals) and can therefore get the very best prices for other fans.

As a few of the serious collectors on here will testify my archive makes Sticky Fingers, The Hard Rock Cafe or even the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame look like small town record stores.

Enjoy collecting!

Matt
